As I was browsing the new Carowinds site, I figured I'd check the calendar as they tend to change it every so often after the season starts.

GREAT news! The park, at least as of now, is scheduled to be open the last 4 weekends in October. The original calendar showed the last regular operating day to be Sept. 19th, now they're open til Oct. 31st. There is a lull from Sept. 19th until Oct. 9th, although I'd guess Scarowinds may run that first weekend in October if they stick to their usual schedule for that event.

I was sad to see the original schedule with that Sept. 19th closing date. I knew I'd go to Scarowinds at least once so would still get some rides after that, but that seemed too early for the whole park to close down. Glad to see that's not the case. This also can't hurt the park in it's quest to break the 2 million guest mark this year. With the buzz BORG seems to be generating, I think they'll get that if we don't have another rainy year like last year.

They always seem to add extra days on after the season has started. Maybe they base it on how well season passes sell or something.

Well, now atleast the park is open for some regular operation in October besides Scarowinds.

This is the best schedule for the park I have yet to see. Daily operation starting on May 21st. That's GREAT! Also, notice the Fridays that the park is open in April and early May. Kudos to Carowinds for adding the extra days!!!!!

Well it makes up for last year when they had several 11pm days and a few more days in May that magically disappeared.

I wonder if they just wait to see when they have corporate buyouts at the end of the year, and then they fill in the schedule after those are set. I also thought that maybe their website guy just forgot to put in a line for October earlier lol.

P.S. One note on those Fridays they're open at 9am. These always seem to have MASSIVE amounts of school groups. I've gone a few times thinking the park would be dead and see nothing but buses and teenagers.

LOL. When I was in Jr. High, our school went to the park on one of the Fridays in May one year and it was Hellish. I've never seen the park so crowded! I wasted most of my day in line for Frenzoid & Vortex. Nothing but BAD memories from that trip!

Well if the park is open regular besides scarowinds in october how will they go about the themeing and all that? I guess youll just see all the scarowinds themeing just not able to ride the scarowinds mazes and stuff? I like scarowinds its not scary but its fun...

I hope they do major theming on the Borg for Scarowinds. That would be neat. Now we have one ride that fits in with scarowinds
