Has anyone been to Scarowinds on a Sunday night?
I am curious if it is just as good as Fri and Sat or if it is short on Scary people and stuff.

I was there last Sunday. It has the same amount of staff/monsters as any other operating day. Less crowded too.

My fiance and I went the last 2 weekends and the only mazes that were accually scary were Defex and Last Laugh. The others NO ONE even attempted to scare you, all alot of them did was stand there and look at you and expect you to be scared.. and they really didn't have hardly any actors spread out thru out the park either. They either need to get better actors or not do Scarowinds at all. Cause if hardly anyone is doing their job and accually trying to be scary then theres is no point. Its called Scarowinds for a reason right?

You are not representing us correctly. The monsters work incredibly hard. I got hit in the throat, therefore, I was not doing much yelling. I don't think you would be, either, if you were in my position. My maze is one of the top scariest maze in the park. You will NOT go through a maze and have no one attempt to scare you. I pop out at every single group that walks by me, and I have pages of things I could say, you will never hear me say the same thing twice. Each night we are improving more and more. We get punched, hit, shoved, screamed in our ears, stepped on, pushed, yelled at, insulted every night. Our throats hurt, our feet kill, we lose hearing. We've had monsters leave with a broken bone.

Think you can do better?

No offense there "allie" but I have been through every maze at Scarowinds with the exception of Camp Killauee since it has been closed every time I have gone.....but thats not the issue. The issue is that Im sure you work hard and Im sure all those hours putting on makeup are a pain and thats not sarcasm. Im sure some people are rude as all hell to you and I dont doubt that part of your statement.
HOWEVER I HAVE been through almost every maze and in TWO and i mean ONLY TWO did anyone make any attempt to scare you. Defex and Last Laff are good. The rest.....the people just glare at you as you walk by them. For Christs sake there is a chainsaw guy in Cornstalkers who just stands there 3 feet from you and doesnt have the chainsaw ON much less chase anyone.
I know Carowinds does very good business with Scarowinds and the concept is good. However it is a FACT that it gets more and more lame every year.
Now please do all of who HAVE been through several mazes with not one attempt being made to scare us a favor. DOnt presume to basically call people liars in a public forum. If you indeed do jump at everyone then I presume you are in Defex or Last Laff. If you try as hard as you say then you need to talk to your fellow monsters. Most of them are not doing anywhere close to that.

Not representing you well? I do believe that's on MOST of the monsters who just stand there looking at you && not trying the least bit to scare anyone. So it's not me not representing you well, it's alot of your fellow monster friends. We have even went on a busy Saturday night && it's still the same thing!! I know some of you accually do your job && try to scare people such as the tall alien thing && the guys on the skates but MOST of the rest just pretty much stand there && stare! The only mazes we found scary were Last Laugh && Defex. I don't really apprectiate being called a liar when that was MY experience with Scarowinds each time we went. So I suggest you talk to your fellow monsters && get the problem fixed. Maybe you should go thru the other mazes with a group of park guests just to see for yourself. I understand all the hassle that comes with the job but your paid to SCARE people so your going to hear the screaming && all the non sense that goes with it, all you monsters signed up for it so therefore you get what comes with it. && there are FAR too FEW monsters spread around the park there have been 4 or 5 places that there were NO monsters at all which made no sence at all.

So does that mean we magically happend to be there when all the "monsters" are tired? They just stand around the corners and LOOK at you when you walk by. The ONLY TWO mazes where they try at all or do anything remotely scary are Last Laff && Defex, I guess they don't get tired. It's just like any other job..no matter how tired you get you still gotta do your job. && besides that FACT we have been to quite a few smaller haunted attractions and ALL thru out the night they were accually SCARY && they obviously NEVER got tired because they kept doing their job.

I'm not trying to complain or downgrade any body. I'm just trying to get the experience I had out there so MAYBE the changes can be made and make it a better experience for everyone. The nights we went I overheard more then a few people complaining about how it wasn't scary and how they wouldn't be back. So we aren't the only ones that have had a bad experience.

Then quit your job and let someone who is actually going to do it do it.

Wow, I can't believe all the whining and complaining although you do have a right to your opinion.

We went to Fright Fest at SFOG this past Saturday and on its worst night, SCarowinds is many times better. Unless you like shows a lot, then SFOG has SCarowinds beat for the numerous venues they have. At least the addition of Blood Drums is a step in the right direction to bringing more variety for SCarowinds.

For what it offers, SCarowinds is a great value. Consider what you are paying, though. Many of us have season passes and aren't paying anything to get in. Even if you buy a ticket, you're still paying $40 or less, and some of that money goes to help maintain the rides.

I am happy that we have a local park with a decent Halloween event.

Ok first no one is whining about anything. Its called voicing an opinion to help make things better. I also have a season pass and what I pay to get in is irrelevant to the fact that the monsters do not attempt to scare people. If I go out more or less, which is quite frankly no concern of yours, doesnt affect how I feel about Scarowinds at all.
All I am saying here is that the "monsters" in most mazes just stand and look at you rather than make any attempt to actually scare anyone.
There is very little at Carowinds that is a great value. The season passes are and thats about it. Twelve or Fifteen dollars to park is absurd and before someone points out every other park that does it I dont care. It isnt right no matter where its being done. Add in the colossally rude staff at Carowinds and inept ride operators to the "monsters" who dont even make an effort and you dont exactly have a great value, especially when you better take out a second mortgage if you expect to actually buy any food or merchandise.
My complaints are an attempt to make Scarowinds better. It has tremendous potential but right now its just a let down in every sense of the word

I didn't mean to make light of anybody's opinion. I've been to 14 different amusement parks this year with some of those experiences better than others. I do have a level of expectation that I hope is met with each visit. It sounds like your expectations weren't met during your most recent trip.
