Intimidator has been closed three times this season due to weather. March 29th due to 40 MPH winds, April 15th due to extreme thunder storms, and it opened four hours later on April 16th due to very cold weather. It was going less then 5 MPH on the mid course break run. I thought they had heaters in the station to warm up the bearings like Behemoth. They did a block test too, which caused the train to almost valley... I waited 2.5 hours for it to open, and it cycled about 65 times before they opened it. I was speaking with an employee and we're getting 2 new coasters very soon, but I won't tell you much more. But, it is confirmed they will be adding seat belts this weekend. It will also hold up the train even more. They have been stacking all season long. It's starting to turn out like Diamondback. No offense, but it rattles a lot! Diamondback's crew is good and so is Intimidator's but they both stack every single cycle. Intimidator's line moves like so:
When they use three trains, the line moves as if they're using two trains. When they use two trains, the line moves as if they're using one. If they use on train, then the line moves as if I were in line for nighthawk...The seat belts will be like Steel Dragon 2000's. It's like Thunder Roads. It doesn't touch your restraint at all. They said there has been too many complaints about the safety and they said expect all B&M hypers in the cedar fair chain to get seat belts very soon (especially Leviathan --- Hint). Below is a poll attached. I know people expect two categories the most, but I already know what it is.

Well it has been confirmed a major new coaster is coming next year for 2015. But they usually wait 4 or 5 years before adding another new coaster. So that is news to me. But if Cedar Fair does intend to make Carowinds more of a tourist destination like Cedar Point, then it does make sense they would add more coasters. As Cedar Point is known for big rollercoasters. And Carowinds did purchase that extra property a few years back, so it makes sense they would be adding new attractions. So it would be great to see another new coaster if that is the case. But more flat rides are needed also.

I'd love to see TWO new coasters soon, but I doubt it will happen. I wouldn't trust the employees, back in 2010 an employee told me we were getting a MASSIVE new ride in 2011.... we got a light show.

2009: Carolina Cobra
2010: Intimidator

Yeah, I know that the Cobra was a used coaster, but it still counts, right?

Good point

2000: Millennium Force
2002: Wicked Twister
2003: Top Thrill Dragster

AND

2000: Flying Super Saturator
2002: Ricochet
2003: Runaway Raptor (Flying Ace Ariel Chase)
2004: Borg (Nighthawk)

I guess two new coasters soon is possible, but I still wouldn't trust the employees.

I know the types of coasters. It has been said by three employees. But, if they do happen to get seat belts, it will just be more stacking. The employees said maintenance will start putting them on and have them on by tomorrow or Sunday. Hint, the next two coasters are both B&M's. About Intimidator, it's starting to rattle like heck just like Behemoth and Diamondback. Why doesn't Shambhala have this problem? What's wrong with the trains and wheels? How long are wheels even supposed to last? It valleys on the bottom of every air time hill, and right before the panoramic turn around... Is it B&M or the maintenance crew?

TWO B&M'S IN A SHORT TIME PERIOD?!?!

I'll start believing when I see seatbelts on Intimidator.

I wouldn't be shocked if 2015 or (more likely) 2016 we got a Flat Rides package, possibly including a Disk'O and Cedar Fair considered it a "coaster" like Cedar Point and Valley Fair.

Beyond that, I highly doubt they get 2 back-to-back coasters. If they did, the non-giga should be a Launch. Carowinds desperately needs it.

I'd love to see a launch, preferrably an Inverted Impusle coaster. I can still remeber how shocked I was while riding Wicked Twister for the first time. I knew it would be fun, but it rocketed way beyond the expectations I had!

Before I close this thread just one thing I have to comment on..

This was when the economy was "good" and every park was adding rides like crazy. If you notice from 2004-2014, a span of 11 years, Cedar Point only put in 2 new coasters. They removed 2 as well. Amusement parks can't afford to do this nowadays, although with this large expansion for Carowinds, maybe we are on the rebound.

But yes, this is once again another speculation/wishlist/future crap thread, which we have so many of already, so go post in them instead. Employees just don't hand out information like how many coasters Carowinds will be getting, and how soon. And enough with the damn seatbelts already. If they are added then someone will report back saying they have been added.
