Hello all, my wife and I just moved down from New England about a year and a half ago, we got the season passes this year as we're literally a half hour from the park. We went today for the 1st time and it was pretty quiet. Probably due to it being a Thursday, rainy in the morning and still a little chilly out.

We really liked the park, and no regrets at all on getting the passes, but had a question on something I thought was weird. When we left, they asked if we wanted our hands stamped, and I said no thanks we have the season passes anyways, and the 2 attendants said a season pass won't get us back in on the same day.

Is this some sort of security measure to prevent somebody getting a hand stamp and then having someone else try to use their pass? I mean they have my picture when they scan my pass.

I just thought it was weird as I have a season pass, I figured that's you know, a pass...for the whole season..., even multiple times on the same day. Anyone know what's up with that?

It prevents people from using their season pass to enter, going out and getting a hand stamp, then giving their pass to someone else to enter. Pretty standard at most parks now I think.

Ok, I thought that might be it, but them having my picture on file was why I was questioning it. Maybe if I had a brother or cousin that resembled me that's what they're preventing.

Thanks for the quick answer, and maintaining this forum :)

Probably wouldn't be too big of concern for you since you live so close, but we are now accustomed to getting our hands stamped even if we don't plan to return that day.. Makes it easier to get back in quickly when the car breaks down in the parking lot of Kings Dominion and you are 3 hours away from home.

Speaking of Season Passes, can you upgrade to season pass after a ticket purchase? will it be for the same season pass amount?

I have yet to talk my wife into season passes this year as she wants to do a vacation somewhere and MAYBE we only visit the park once this year. We're going tomorrow. I keep telling her we're gonna come back at least one more time for the water park but I may not get through to her until after we're in the park tomorrow.

Yes you can upgrade to a season pass once you're in the park. Just bring your admission receipt to customer service and they will give you a gold season pass for an additional $55.

Was able to talk my wife into renewing the season passes before we got there. Glad I did too because the upgrade fee would have made the total more expensive than the renewal. Not to mention with renewing, we didn't have to get in a single line to do it. The card just became reactivated and away we went.
