Ok here is a thought how come Carowinds doesnt get the respect it deserves like we were the first to have a 4 inversion coaster and the first interactive roller coaster i think something needs to be done because we are not getting much of the respect we should be getting

Respect from who? What are you talking about?

I think Carowinds gets a lot of respect. We may not have Cedar Point's number of coasters. We may not have a hyper. But, the park is well known and has a certain amount of history (lack of better word) to it. Four loop coasters now get lost in the shuffle of the newer models. Does the number of inversions really matter anymore? To me, the Saturator isn't that special (especially since there are others now.) Top Gun really made the park a destination and now Borg has too. In fact, I've been rather tickled to see the publicity and news coverage that Borg has brought to the park.

i agree with max, i think PC is starting to grow a little bit now that BORG has come onto the scene. I thought it was excellant and i don't think it really needs the attention other parks have.

I think Carowinds hasn't been getting respect from Paramount Parks, but is starting to gain its right to get great rides.

Well actually a lot of people are starting to notice Carowinds as a good regional park now.

I've seen several comments on "other" forums and people visit PC for the first time and are almost shocked at how good the park is.

It's one of the best kept secrets in the region.

I really wish the park would advertise in the Atlanta area. I think they really could give Six Flags a run for their money.

BGW is advertising here, so I don't see why they shouldn't down there as well.

As a matter of fact, I was in line for Vortex with someone one time and they told me they actually like Carowinds better than they liked SFOG.

Which isn't the case for me...the coasters are still better at Georgia to me, but I'd say PC is probably a nicer park, just because it's not so "ghetto". lol

To some, the park itself makes the difference. I love SFOG coasters, but I rarely go there because of the trash and rude employees and customers in that park.

There was a time when I did not like Carowinds, but they have greatly improved and cleaned up older sections of the park til they are one of my favorites now. They really are at the level of park to start getting some quality rides and they have been lately. I look forward to Carowinds future attractions with great anticipation.

Im totally confused about the "respect" thing. Respect comes in different shapes and sizes. Just because the park doesnt get the televised spots of the big coaster events doesnt mean that its being drug in the dirt. I respect the park. I never throw paper on the ground. I never curse in the present of the oldest coaster and i always say, "by your leave sir" to every passing train on Top Gun...............is this the type of respect your talking about ;) .

I really believe Carowinds is one or two attractions away from being a world class park. In addition I think they will need to expand the park to accomidate larger crowds in the future. Imagine if PKI was the same size as PC. It would be like Bourbon Street during Mardi Gras!

The park has really came a long way. They only need a few more types of caosters to have all types. Carowinds is almost the only place in the south that has a lot of selction of types of coasters.
