This was an amusment park that was made by the Baker's. When It closed did carowinds try to buy it or get there hands on the old resort there, whitch is crumbleing to peices like HOLLYWOOD TOWER HOTEL.( Towere of terror)

Ya, It looks exactly like the Tower of Terror.

I would doubt that Carowinds would want to buy the resort in the sorry state it is in now. I have heard that they have been trying to get the tower imploded for a movie for some time now. I heard that they have been trying to do this for like the past 5 years after no buyer appeared that wanted to repair and reopen the resort.

Yeah it's weird driving by there, and seeing a skyscraper through a field. Looks like it was picked up by accident and plopped down in the wrong place.

I hope they implode it soon. It's just an eyesore. You can see the thing from Carolina Place mall. That's how tall it is.

I've never heard of Carowinds wanting the property though.

It would be cool if Paramount did buy the land. And make a huge resort. I don’t know if anyone heard, but last month 6 Teenagers (3 males, 3 Females) did get caught trespassing in the Hotel and having a party. Drugs and alcohol were involved. They only got caught because a security officer saw a light in one of the rooms.

You know, I have never seen the park nor have I ever been by the park. What else is there that Carowinds would want? Besides the land.

We had a thread on the old Heritage USA/PTL Resort property a while back. It is currently for sale (Though I doubt Paramount would be interested):

It's too bad the resort collapsed after all the scandals and everything. It was a really nice place to visit.

I rememeber a few years back going to that waterpark for the lights at X-mas. But, I have never actually been to the park when it was open. When did it close down? I was probally too small to (I was born in 89.) :P

We just happened to be nearby and drove through the resort about 3 weeks ago. I would say that the buildings on the resort are in such bad condition that it would cost more to repair the resort than to tear it down and build something new. They will probably get a buyer (if ever) that is interested in the land and not reopening the resort.

I will look for the hotel tower from the skytower, I've never noticed it.

I saw when I was on the skytower. From up close it looks spooky.

Those are some really nice pics.

Thanks for pointing that out. There's not really much information on the web aboyt Heritage USA, so it's really cool to come across something like this.
