I say laydown because you laydown more than flying. Second on RCT2 A laydown coaster starts out laying down. A flying coaster is face down on a inverted track.

Whoah! This is a tough one. I really can't decide. Stealth was the first modern flying coaster, and Borg is Stealth. Both parks advertise and say that they are flying coasters. But, just like RCT says, that Borg and Stealth are laying down coasters because you spend a lot of time on your backs and you do the lift hill on your back. I'll decide later becuase I want to see what every body else thinks before I vote. You know, you could have made this easier by adding two more choices:undecided and both! But, hey, its your poll!

I'm more likely to refer to it as a flying coaster but I have referred to it as both. Any coaster that puts riders in a flying position should be considered a flyer. Now the Zamperla at Canada's Wonderland is questionable...

Can't believe there's a topic dedicated to this....

The park advertises it as a FLYING coaster. The Vekomian name for it is the FLYING Dutchman. See a pattern here!

Just because RCT calls it a laydown coaster doesn't mean crap. They can call the coasters in the game whatever whatever they want. Its not like they're the ultimate authority in coasters. They just design a game that utilizes coasters and coaster types.

The point is that we should go by what the park and the designer of the coasters call it. Not some computer game. I sure as heck don't call it a lay down coaster because it sounds stupid. Sure you start out laying down in the station and on the lift hill but you do fly throughout the ride.

That was the whole purpose of the prototype: to simulate flight.

I think Max put it pretty well... I don't really see this topic going anywhere but down, so I'm gonna go ahead and lock it up.
