The 2004 Amusement Today Golden Tickets are up at http://www.amusementtoday.com. Top Gun was ranked at #40 on the steel coaster chart. It was 39th last year, so the one spot drop was likely due to Storm Runner, which came in at #33. It was 6th among B&M inverteds. Obviously, I think it should be a little higher, but it's essentially a popularity contest so I guess it's good that it is on the list at all. It usually gets a much higher spot in Mitch Hawker's Internet poll, which will be later this year.

I'd like to congratulate Dollywood, which showed up in this year's GTs:

-THUNDERHEAD: 6th best wooden coaster

-2nd Best Shows

-2nd Friendliest Employees

And of course BGW for it's 2,000th "Most Beautiful Park" Golden Ticket.

I think Top Gun should have been ranked higher as well, but you'd have people bitching if their precious _________ was knocked down a spot by that little invert in the Carolinas.

And to think we lost out to BBW, considering it's no longer there. It fell in the Rein river for pity sake!
