General Carowinds discussion

Ok every one. It is 3 am and I just finished a 2 and 1/2 hour for Paramount. This is a great survey but it should NOT be taken lightly. You need to set up a couple hours for it and take your time.

The begining of the survey asks for nothing to be copied or shared from the survey including pictures, concept art, etc... Please keep that in mind as you take the survey. This was one of the most intense and fun surveys to date and it will give you a feel for Paramount's future.

Be honest and think of the entire age group and future of the park because many of the attractions will rival what Disney or Universal has. Like I said it is very exciting.

In each of the additional comments I purposely stated Carowinds and how the attractions could make it a top 5 park. Little things like...If this were to be placed between the Carolina Boardwalk and Waterworks it would fit the theme that is already there and the flow of attractions would be fluid.

Anyway, I know you are tired of reading so I will give you the link. That is one thing they said you could share. :D

Wow, very exciting! I can't wait until some of those attractions get built! Some are very Disney-ish...

I don't think they want us to reveal what's on it, so everyone will have to take the survey for themselves. ;)

Even though Forseer already mentioned it, I'll bring it up again...

Please don't reproduce the descriptions or drawings on other web sites.

For the vast majority of our respondents, this really won't an issue and we're sorry to even have to bring it up. But for those of you who might be thinking that it might be cool to post the artwork or story ideas on your favorite web site, please consider that your actions will have an impact on whether or not we do this again in the future. Not to mention that all artwork and text is copyright 2004 Paramount Parks and we do not authorize you to reproduce this material on any other web site. You MAY share the initial link we sent you.

So... please do not discuss any of the specifics from the survey here. If you do, obviously your post will be deleted, and I won't be very happy. B)

Please refrain from specifically naming the concepts. This may not be a problem, but it's better to be safe than sorry.

that took you a few hours?? wow didn't take me but 30-35 mins!! but that's probably because the descriptions either had the words overlapped by other words, the words behind a pic, the black letters in front of a black picture, or all of the above!

oh yeah it woulden't elt me go to the next page of the description lol.

It took me about 30 minutes to do the whole thing. Maybe I'm a fast reader or something.

Maybe its just me, but I felt some of the concepts were just too cheesy. So, I guess that I'm not the one they're aiming for :)

Give me the stuff that Dollywood previewed or something along the lines of the Addams Family (which would make a great coaster like in the survey or a dark/haunted house type ride.)

I don't care about "behind the scenes" stuff or simulators. I thought it was incredibly cheesy when they stopped the Magic of the Movies show just to show the Lemony Snicket trailer! I couldn't believe it.

There was only concept that even appealed to me and it sounds cool but the co-branding is what ruined it for me.

The last thing I commented on was the fact that we need more *thrills* at the park. More flats. Yes, I even mentioned the "H" word as far as coasters go.

It took you two and a half hours to do this concept survey? I keep looking for a page to say that we are only kidding with this survey.

Don't you know there would be some booty shakin' and some freestyling going on in that one concept :)

For those of you who wonder why it took me over 2 hours to complete it is because I actually thought out each of the attractions and what they would bring to the park. I also included several comments on all 11 of them. I stated what I thought was good, bad, and ugly and where I thought it could fit in. I also included my thoughts on how some of those attractions were, compared to what Disney and Universal/IOA offer. They send out these surveys to get back decent answers not just yea I like it so build it, so I took my time.

I will agree with Max that a couple of them were cheesy and I also don't like the ones he does not like. Give me thrills and entertain me!!

Now to those of you who did not READ what I and Jonathan posted, or even read the link page, No descriptions or content is to be shared on any web site. So for those of you who actually named some of the attractions please go back to school, learn how to read and stop ruining it for the rest of us. Paramount puts some trust in us and altho others will spill the beans I did not think anyone here would.

Jonathan, sorry I posted the link.

The one that I didn't like was the snow one. If you go to a theme park in the summer, I don't think you want to play in the snow.

It seemed like too many things were being copied from orlando parks. Or maybe that was just me. Is that was paramount is shooting for?

Some of you are taking this concept survey abit to seriously. Loosing up the tie and have some fun guys, but take some time to give some good feedback.

There's nothing in the survey that says that.

It says to not copy the the concept art.

It doesn't say that we can't say what the concepts are.

Well actually it says "But for those of you who might be thinking that it might be cool to post the artwork or story ideas on your favorite web site." I'm not trying to be a jerk about it or anything, and I know that most of the other coaster sites out there have in-depth discussions of the concepts going on right now, but I'd rather this one not be a problem.
