Although Paramount Carowinds has yet to make the official announcement, this article in the Cincinnati Enquirer confirms what we already know:

<a href='http://www.enquirer.com/editions/2004/10/12/loc_flyingeagles12.html' target='_blank'>http://www.enquirer.com/editions/2004/10/1...ngeagles12.html</a>

Rumor it will be named "Spirit of Kitty Hawk" has surfaced. Not sure, but I do like the name.

Hey, I like that name. Can we say Carolina Boardwalk. I hope so, that area needs rides.

Since it's already been announced for Animation Station, I'd say that it's not going to Carolina Boardwalk.

I don't think we know what the other new ride is for Animation Station, just the Flying Eagles part. Be interesting to see what the other new ride is.

Just had an email saying that no amount of effort by the public or enthusiats will keep the flyers at PKI. They're definitely on their way to the Carolinas.

Also...how about some flyer ERT for next year's C3!!!

Now your talking. Of course if they do have the No-Snap rule maybe they can lift it for us just that one time?

Sorry PKI, time for another park to have some fun. You still have The Beast.

But doesn't the flyer say something like "A complete overhaul of Animation Station AND two new rides."

Seems to me that if they were going in AS, they would have said "...overhaul of AS which INCLUDES two new rides".

Maybe I'm being picky, but it does leave a little room for debate until the official announcement whenever that happens.

Here is what the platinum pass email newsletter says.

New Kids' Rides Coming In 2005
In 2005, the children's area of the Park will be bigger and better than ever, featuring a complete makeover of Animation Station and the addition of two all-new rides designed for children and parents to enjoy together.

I don't think that leaves any room for debate, but maybe that's just me.

Keep this in mind, it also says surprises are instore. I agree with BGWfreak. The flyer says that will be 14 rides in the area. NC, AS, and ZZ adds up to 13. I don't see a ride being removed. I see a walkway from Road Rally to the Jetliners, and a new kiddy ride or two. Maybe, the picture was a teaser for another annoucement. The flyer only gave a few details.

I could be wrong, but I honestly don't think a new ride is included in "surprise." The entire idea behind adding a new ride is that Paramount can advertise it and make people want to come to the park. If they didn't tell people about it, there would be no point. I think you're setting yourself up for disappointment.

What would be the purpose of redoing AS without adding some new stuff to it? That's the two new rides. The key phrase is "two all-new rides designed for children and parents to enjoy together." That's AS, not Carolina Boardwalk, not the rest of the park. *children and parents* That's the phrase folks. It goes along with what I heard a long time ago: kiddie stuff for next year.

When I read the flyer for the first time, my guess was that the new rides are going into AS as part of the redo. I thought it was worded fairly clearly.

I think a lot of people are wanting to get their hopes up for something bigger when its not going to happen. Enjoy Borg for another year. We could have something big in 2006 or whenever.

Well it's official, I was wrong...again. :( lol

The two rides will be for AS. But at the same time it says many surprises will be in the new "package" for AS.

So sounds like it will be a great looking revamped area.

I must say kudos to Carowinds. In a time when many parks are pulling back from investing in the park, Carowinds has been expanding. B) B) B)

So my question is this. Are the Scooters for AS or are the 2 All New rides actually all new?
After reading these posts and the flyers, newsletter, etc..I am still not convinced that the Scooters are for AS.
Of course this is my brain thinking.

You could say that the flyers will be "new" to Carowinds (and AS) since we've never had them here before :) Gotta love hype!
