General Carowinds discussion

I don't know if anyone can answer this or not unless they work there, but all summer my son has been looking for Jimmy Neutron at the "meet and greets" in Nick central. So far, we've only seen Angelica and Tommy (ho-hum) Dora(I guess some kids love her) Spongebob and Patrick(I guess because they can really sell merchandise) and Blue(yeah, I guess she's cute for the toddler crowd). I think it would be great to have some Jimmy Neutron Characters, Cosmo and Wanda and Timmy, the all growed up Rugrats, and Danny Phantom and that Teenage Robot thing. I don't even see Eliza Thornberry and that other character (Donny?)much anymore. We saw some really cool characters in the parade so I know some of the costumes exist. What happened to them after the parade stopped running?

(I miss the penny-squishing machines too. I noticed they were gone for the 2004 season. It would've been neat to have a Borg penny.)

My daughter and I will experience our first Scarowinds tomorrow evening.
We can't wait!

Come to think of it I have only seen the ones you mentioned. I do of course see George Jetson and Astro but alot of kids probably don't know them.

Sounds to me like you have a great suggestion to tell the park. Stop by customer service or maybe write them. I am all for seeing the oversized heads of Jimmy Nuetron and gang.

I will also be at Scarowinds tomorrow with my Daughter and her brother.

I'm sure they only have the ones listed because they are the most popular shows.

I personally love cartoons and love spongebob and fairly odd parents.

It doesn't matter either way to me what charecters there are really.

Plus I'm sure those costumes cost several hundered dollars, not cheap stuff.

They already have the Cosmo and Wanda costumes from Fairly Odd Parents
they have Jimmy Neutron too. They just never bring it out even though Jimmy
Neutron is extremely popular. I think the Rugrats All Grown Up are now more popular
than the original Rugrats, plus the Tommy costume they are using now
is starting to look worn or needs cleaning.
I admit SpongeBob and Patrick are OK and are white hot popular right now
and everyone loves them, and Dora is adorable with her backpack, and Blue
is cute too. I'm not saying get rid of the ones they have,(except Angelica and Tommy who need to be sent to the cleaners for a while) but I just think they need to add more characters and rotate their appearances. It would help to preserve
those expensive costumes and more kids would get a chance to see their favorite
Nicktoons characters.

Actually, the nine and ten year olds that I work with at school know who the Hanna-Barbara characters are. They are still known by a lot of kids, and kids still watch them on Cartoon Network.

It doesn't matter to me personally either, but my son would love to see Jimmy Neutron. I've seen other children's faces light up with excitement when they see the costumed characters and I know they would love to see more. Pictures of children with their favorite characters become priceless additions to family photo albums. (Check out Coasterbruh's avatar). I think it's an important part of the
park experience.

^^ So what your saying is that only immature people like cartoon characters. I guess there's a maturity level when it comes to liking characters.......

Well, I don't care how much fun kids are having, it is about how much I am having. I wish the Nicktoons would go back to Florida with the old people.(no offense)

haha, I understand what you mean. But you have to understand the characters that are in the park is all due to Viacom and marketing. I hate to tell the anti-Nick people, but it looks like we will see even more orange and white in the formally known "Animation Station" for next season as I forseee pretty much the whole area becoming an all Nick themed.

So I guess coasterbruh and I are both immature (check out his avatar). lol

Many kids now can watch "Boomerang" on Sunday mornings and watch all the old cartoons, so they probably know who a lot of those charecters are.
