Found a survey about a "themed" campground in my inbox a few minutes ago. It deal with the possibility of a park having a "themed" campground next to it. It gave a list of possible themes that could possibly be used in such a campground. I tried to find the least possible annoying theme (wilderness) although I said a MTV campground could be the worst possible one that could be used. It said that it might not be ready in 2005 maybe in 2006, if it was going to be done.

I always liked Frog Creek campground. We stayed there a lot when I was in junior and high school. It had a nice pool and putt putt area. We'd get there on Fridays and go up and watch the coasters (this was when it ran on Fridays many years ago.) Boy were we amazed by White Lightnin' the year it opened up!

There were a few questions about themed resturants in the park and if you'd visit a winter festival type event.

I just got home and found the survey as well. I started taking it and decided to come here to see if anyone else has taken it. It took me a minute or two to decide if I wanted to downplay the campground in hopes they might expand the park but I to have stayed in that campground and think if it is updated it would bring back a good base of families.

The only 2 themes I liked were the Wilderness and the Outback themes. All the others were just way off base to me. I did like the little note they put in saying that this is just an example and there is no way they could do the Nick theme by 2005.

I also did not like having to choose only 5 things I want in a campground as to me there were several more that should be an automatic must do not options.

I chose the Grease resteraunt as Happy Days is already used and I don't like cloneing more than once.

It would be nice to know what kind of winter festival they are thinking about altho I did say I would attend.

MTV campground?

That's just weird.

I guess they'd have poorly planned dance parties and such. lol :D

I hope that they aren't going to do that with Carowinds.

Isn't the camp ground still closed at Carowinds? I can see a valid point in revamping all their camp grounds.

But seems like camping is not the "in thing" it used to be in the 70's.

A lot of campgrounds are almost as expensive as staying at a hotel now.

I hate camping, so I don't keep up with camping. Did the Carowinds camp do well?

Just when i though they were going to turn the campground into employee parking.

I like the idea and think it could go over very well if properly done just not really sure if that would even get people to the campground. I always thought the park was loseing money from the campground since i never saw more than 10 campers there.

It could be cool. just hope it works.

Camp Crystal Lake. Now thats a theme that would get me there!

Crews are in the process of upgrading the campground with hopes of re-opening in 2005.

Great, we all could go some weekend and roast marshmellows while we gaze at the lights inside the park.

An idea for C3 2k5.

Excellent! I'd go. Especially at Halloween.

I think another good idea would be the option to rent equipment, like
have a tent already set up with cots in it and all you bring are sleeping
bags and food and whatever else. Some of us don't own camping equipment
but still might like to experience it. They do this at a campground near
Lake Wylie (or they did) I think at Copperhead Island. (hmmmm...
how'd that place get it's name, would I really want to camp there?)

As for theming, I don't know.

Do I really want a campground? Or would I like a park expansion?
I guess what I would like and Carowind's budget are two different
things.

If they do in face re-open the campground and have a theme to it then i just might have to bring my camper down from the beach. It sleeps 6.
