I have a question going to carowinds on 10/23. I am a bigger guy I was just wondering about problems I may have riding some rides. Now when I say bigger I am not obese by any means. Just wondering what rides would be tight fitting ect.. thanks for your replies. Weight wise i am about 6 ft. 250 or so. So not obese just a little over weight.

You should be fine unless you have a large protruding belly. This was not meant as an insult for those who do. I've seen many instances at Carowinds where people of that stature could not click the bar on Hurler or Thunder Road and had to leave without riding. Most rides are made to accomodate large and big-boned people though.

Yeah I'd say you should be fine. No Intamin rides at Carowinds...

OK I am pretty much just a big guy all over. I only where about a 38 waist so its not like i have a big belly and where 46 in pants. I was just wondering i have never had any trouble riding elsewhere just wanted some opinions on it. So any more would be very helpful. Just wondering was all. The people you said that had large belly's were they really big people or what? Thanks alot guys...

I think the Bellies are in the order of beer bellies as far as a reference.

I do know that on Top Gun the seats that have 2 seat belts are for the larger guests and I think they are on rows 3 and 5.

If you decide to ride Gold Rusher make sure you are in the very front seat as it offers more room.

I don't know if any one else has noticed but on Thunder Road I swear the way they have that divider in the middle of the seats makes for one side smaller than the other. As my Daughter and I will ride it if my side is too tight I switch with her and am more comfortable.

When you ride the Ricochet I don't think it really matters where a larger person would sit but I will warn you that when the brakes are applied it can be a sudden stop so brace yourself.

For riding the cyclone may I suggest the very front car as it has a great amount of room or if you prefer to ride towards the back just get in the front of the 2 seats.

I am pretty sure that the other rides, minus the kiddy stuff, will accomadate you well.

What ever you do make sure you stop by Outer Hanks and get a Flounder Sandwich or by the Country Kitchen and get the Herb Baked Chicken. Both are tops at the park.

Goldrusher may be uncomfortable a little. I am 200lbs and find it a snug fit in the back cars. Definitely take Foreseer's advice for the front seat.

MOB My only concern for where you may encounter a problem is @ Borg. If your Thighs are Big you may have difficulty with the Hip Bar coming down. It does have to Click 2 times in order for you to be completly be locked in. If you go to the Exit and ask the attendant if you check to see if you will fit before you wait in the long line I am pretty sure they won't mind. I know that I would always accomidate someone if I was approached.

At Top Gun the Bigger People Rows are 3 through 6 and there is a double belted seat in each row. they are one of the Middle seats.

Good Luck and I hope that you have an enjoyable day

I think You'll be able to fit onto Cyclone, Hurler, Thunder Road, defanetly Top Gun and I dunno about borg. I not sure if you'll fit on Goldrusher, my 5'11 frame is a little big for that.

If you try, don't get the first row of each car (less leg room) with the exception of front row. If you sit in the back row of a car you have more footroom because you can stick your feet under the seat in front of you.

I think on one side of TR the seats are smaller too. I also think thats its just on certain trains.

I am also pretty large. I am 6ft and 275. I didnt have any problems with any of the rides. I didnt ride borg because of the weight limit. All the rest I had no problems. Last year I went to scarowinds and had a bulgy jacket on and it made it kind of tight but other than that I was able to ride.

You should be fine, my dad is about the size of you and he can ride everything(except scooby) just fine.(including borg)
