General Carowinds discussion

Hey, I was just looking at carowinds zone and I saw a forum "Stealth was to come Sooner", well, If you look at coasterforce.com, and look at their stealth page (in the PGA page), under the "Did you know" Catagory, it says that paramount ordered 3 more flying coasters from Vekoma, but they scrapped the plan because it took so long to get stealth working.

Like it says in the forum at Carowinds Zone, stealth was to come sooner because Reptar doesn't appear on the picture of the ride layout (can be seen in the 2004 construction zone). This fact from Coasterforce (which I assume has been on the site for a couple of years by now) proves that maybe we got top gun instead of a Stealth clone in 1999!

Actually, I believe Stealth was never destined for Carowinds at any point, until now.

The original story that occasionaly buzzes around the roller coaster community was that Stealth was orginally planned for Kings Dominion, and Hypersonic XLC was planned for PGA.

There IS "alleged" proof that Hypersonic was to be built at Great America. There were posters up and everything for "A launched ride that excels 200ft" all over the park. But, when the following Spring rolled around, the ride that everybody was expecting in California was all the way across the country in Virginia. I'm not to sure about where the thoughts that Stealth was for KD came up from, but if the story was true than it does make since.

But then again, I really don't believe in most of these "contract" deals or "parks trading coaster plans" crap.

I never said that it was the actual coaster. I was aim of 2000 or 2001, not 1999.

Do you believe everything you read at CZ? ;)

Although that tribute thread to the Queen was pretty funny...

Everything on Carowinds Zone is based on timelines, park maps, what the park says. The tribute topic is my way of dealing with the loss of the riverboat. The Carowinds Zone is the second best source for information on the history of Carowinds.

I'd like to know what that person said about the boat to get threatened with a temporary ban from CoasterZone (like that'd be the end of the world.) Both of the person's posts was deleted with a warning about not dissing the queen. Can't be as bad as Titanic saying the boat was termite heaven.

I mean its just a boat.

who has dissed a queen and survived....

I guess they'll stop when the people in the Matrix stop trying to break the rules of gravity and stop running and jumping off of these walls!!

Tell that to everybody else who is saying that a clone of Stealth was never destined to come to Carowinds.

It was just a theory, I may of been wrong, or it may be right, it doesn't matter. We have the stupid ride now.
