General Carowinds discussion

For those of you that work or worked at Carowinds, how was it? Would you work there again? Is the pay decent? Are they somewhat flexible on work hours? Are there any jobs that should be avoided?

I'm thinking about getting a part time job there but I already have a full time career during the week. I want to work the weekends or at night.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Lets see to answer your question working there can be fun and it can be crappy. Overall experience is good. Would i work there again well yes i would so this is my 2nd season. Hours are somewhat flexible just depends on what your hours are. Any jobs that should be avoided just depends on how your body is (If you want movement goto rides if you want to stand up and do a little moving goto food and beverage and if you want to stand go to Games.

I am 15 now and am thinking of working at Carowinds next summer; however, I dont want to have to work at some little kiddie ride. Is there any way of choosing what ride you want to work on? I would want to work on some coaster or the flyers...

Just let tem know you don't want to work in kiddie land. Thats all. More than likely if you want to be put on a coaster the will place you on Thunder Road, Cyclone, Hurler or Vortex.

You will not get big coasters or big rides IE:Top Gun, Borg Assimilator, Vortex, Drop Zone, Xtreme Skyflyer. Cause You Cant Handle IT naaa lol its North Carolina Law saying you have to be 18 to work a major steel roller coaster (Top Gun is in SC but it is a Major Steel Roller Coaster)

^ I am 15 also (turning 16 in August) I also plan to work at PC next summer. Maybe a lifeguard or a ride operator, depends on what's avalible and how I look next summer to be a lifeguard! (Gotta look good for the ladies!)

Actually, you have to be 18 operate any ride as they all are "heavy machines".

Actually, you are completely wrong. Amusement ride legislation is separate. As Carowindsman, who does indeed actually work at the park, said, you do have to be 18 to work a ride in North Carolina, but in South Carolina only 16. The park enforces its own rule of 18 years old for Top Gun.
