Yes, it's finally finished! From March 19, 2005 until today, I've been working on this video as an entry into the http://www.themeparkreview.com video contest. Now, you can view the finished video on our website. The video can be found here: www.whootah.com

Meh, I didn't like it too much. not enough ride footage. and except for 1 to 3 times when you gave a coaster shot you fast forwarded it, I found it annoying. Over half the video was the flyers.

Sorry, but that's my opinon.

Maybe this video is more about when friends come together and have a great time. It sure looked like everyone was having a Big and Rich time to me. And how many times have you seen coaster footage of Carowinds anyway?

It is great to see someone put a difrent side to Carowinds then just coaster footage.

Great video guys.

Sorry you didn't like it Trev but that's OK. We don't expect everyone to love everything we make.

The flyers are predominantly featured in the video because they are the newest addition to the park and are a big hit with the Whootah Crew. They have significant historical value and are one of the most enjoyable amusement rides that exist. Also, its important to show our neighbors to the north that the flyers are being run, by Carowinds, the way they should be with lots of snapping and flying! Short version - Flyers are as fun as coasters... just in a different way.

Lots of coaster footage has been done in other Carowinds videos and we like to make ours focused around the people and new things.. that's all.

As I posted at Whootah, this is probably one of the best coaster videos I've ever seen. B) Awesome job Phil. I can certainly understand though why someone would be disappointed if they wanted more long shots of rides and such, but as Dave said, there's plenty of ride video floating around out there.

Great work Alan & Phil!
Loved the long version especially.

Wish you would've snuck a few seconds of the Flying Dutchman's Revenge in there at double speed. That would've looked pretty funny, IMO.

Trev, as much I respect your opinion I think if Alan and Phil made videos with just ride footage it would get boring pretty fast. I mean these guys put at least 2 Carowinds videos out a year! I'm definitely not saying that videos with *just* ride footage are bad or uninteresting(heck I even have an idea for an Expedition GeForce[..JUST EGF no people..] video despite never having been to Germany as well as not having a camcorder) , many are excellent well crafted creations, but you just can't do something like that too many times before it becomes stale.
Maybe it's just me but I tend to remember parks more by the people I spent time with rather than the rides I rode. As for Flying Eagles being the main attraction.. so what?! It's brand new, and it's a GREAT attraction to base the majority of a video on as it is really fun to watch with a group of enthusiasts as they (or in this case we  ) risk life and limb to fly as high as humanly possible, and snap so hard you could hear them from Heritage USA...

ANYWAYS..

As I said on Whootah.com It was well worth the wait.. this proves that when you take your time you can come out with something really exceptional. I am with Jon in saying this is quite possibly the best video I've ever seen. I really enjoy how the first minute and a half (of the long version) reminded me of one of those reality tv shows that just follow around a certain celebrity or group of celebrities; very entertaining to say the least.

--Jay (Who's wondering where he could find a .wav file of that final snap that is repeated in the final segment..?)

I don't mind having people in the video, I just thought it could use a little more ride footage/more footage of things other than the flyers.

Thanks to everybody for the positive feedback on the video!

Just to cover credit where it's due:

I picked out the song and Phil and I both worked on the opening sequence together (long version) up to the point of the first time you see SpongeBob. That was my only contribution. The vast majority of the editing and effects was totally Phil and he did an awesome job!

Now, If I can just finish up that PKD video... Wow, now i've got alot to live up to. Thanks alot Phil! :P

just living up to the whootah name, always gotta be better! (ok, thats my theory anyway). But, to be honest i really wanted to create something to pass the bar Alan set with the museum of life and science video in the effects deptartment. I had never done much effects wise in my videos, i relied on good clips, timing and music to tell the story. But this time, i wanted to make something that really stood out.

Thanks everyone for the congrats, now lets just see how it stands up in the competition! My only hesitation is after everyone sees it, everyone else will try to surpass mine next year so..... what will we do then? Bah... I'm not worried!
