At carowinds now, they are closing all the photo booths cause they aren't getting much business. I believe that this is because the pictures are WAY too expensive.

What if the park took the digital photo of you that they currently take, but instead of printing it out and charging 8 something bucks for it, they could email the photo to you and only charge like a dollar. That would be a dollar of pure profit for the park and I'm sure much more people would buy photos. For example, I was at the park today, and if the photos were only a dollar, I would have gotten at least two of em.

yeah.. i think that would be a good idea.. At the park they pretty much closed TG's photo booth and the rest are always empty.. except for the ppl that want to see it.. Emailing wouldn't be a bad idea.. or they could just simply lower the cost of the photo itself.. I mean.. we're not like the idiot guests in RCT, that automatically buy onride photos if they're for sale for 6.00

I think the main problem is that the novelty of on-ride photos has just worn off.

A few years ago it seemed that everybody in the park would be carrying around one, but now people just pass up the stands entirely. (Or look at the pictures on the monitors without purchasing)

If they include the printed picture then they have the excuse that they have to charge at least 4 bucks because it costs money to print the picture. I don't want to pay 4 bucks, I want to pay 1.50 or less.

You think 8 dollars is bad for a photo, go to IOA and get a hulk one. for one of the more basic forms of the frame/pictures is $24.00!!! (mine was a REALLY basic frame, with one big pic and 4 wallet sized ones) and one form was over $30.00!!


They really get you at universal...


Anyway, i think the whole e-mailing thing is a great idea!

I love the emailing for a dollar idea. That would be great because people
could then do whatever they wanted with the pic once they had it on their

I wish they would sell the keychains with pictures
for about $3 each.

I spent over $100 on 3 on-ride photos between Disney & orlando. IMO thats just crazy, Not sure how they get away with it.

$10 is perfect which is what most parks charge. They don't need to go any lower or higher. I would be more than happy to pay 10 dollars.

BUT! at 10 bucks, most people will only buy one photo from the ride. If the pictures are a dollar, people will get lots of photos, perhaps one every time they visit.

10.00? are you out of your mind?? Only at parks that people visit once will you be able to rip people off that bad... at carowinds a system of cheap photos would be better - people could get more photos and the email idea would make it so much easier to use.. I think that ride photos are only there for (1) if the park is a vacation destination that you're likely not to visit in a long period of time, i.e. disney/orlando parks, or (2) the idea that Cephas proposed, a cheaper revised system... lets face it, carowinds doesn't attract that many out-of-town visitors, so the ride photo program should focus more on the returning visitors - the system proposed above would work better for this park...

I heard from someone that they aren't getting rid of the on-ride photos for long.

They are supposedly working out a deal with a new company that will probably be better than the new ones.

They said that they will add one back to Top Gun with the new company whenever it happens.


As far as the current prices, I think $13.95 is outrageous for the LOG FLUME!!!

The rest aren't too out of line with other parks.

Top Gun photo will return from what i have heard also. As well as adding Borg photo.
