carowinds in the rain is the best. just make sure it isn't thundering. there aren't lines cuz everybody's hidin in places. u can usually double up on a ride too, cuz of the fact no one wants to go. its fun. only problem is lightning. i think it might have hit top gun cuz there was a huge bang comin from there. flyers is best in the rain cuz of the wind. it helps u snap. the ride managers there didn't care about what u did. it was the best. btw, fridays r bad days to go, cuz its really crowded. go on a weekday or sunday morning. peace.

welcome to the boards Prashant!

I was there from 5-7:15...

I rode Flyers in the rain twice in a row... it was awesome!!!
In the rain it rocked, it started pouring, and I've never seen a ride empty faster...
I went the opposite way as the tide of people, and got some of the best rides ever...

I also got to ride rides I hadn't in so long, such as Thunder Road Backwards (since 1998, although i was somewhat disappointed), FOC (i'll always know it as Scooby, it packs a pretty good punch for a kiddie)... I also got to ride the Scooby Haunted Mansion for the first time, I scored 820 points, which was pretty cool... i thought it wasn't a bad dark ride...

The Flyers in the rain were the best thing I have ever done.. Indiangangsta is right though, Fridays aren't so great.

The next best thing in the rain was TG!!! 62 mph when it's raining hard sort of feels like ice pellets, but the mist tunnel felt warm, and it gave you an interesting experience, plus there were no lines. I hoped that the summer had all-day rain days like the Spring, b/c they would be the best day to goto Carowinds. No lines, more fun rides, etc...

It was a great 2 hours in the theme park...

Unfortunately, I only got to 198 on my TG rides.. so i'm almost at 200!!!!

Ridn' in the rain ain't bad at all. Of course media day was a whole new experience all together. D.F. could have been called Mr. Freeze that day.

It sure is funy how people run out of the rain but are willing to go on the water rides.

Rainy rides can be pretty cool - and on woodies rides *after* a good rainstorm can be quite excellent. C3 last year was a great example - Hurler was very smooth and fast last year after The Downpour that flushed out many of the C3'ers. Easily my best rides on it last year - remember that was before the first turn retracking it got this year when it was usually running pretty rough and "bleh". Thunder Road was also much faster and wilder than usual for the ERT session. They also raced for that which made it even more fun. Top Gun also seems to pick up a bit after a rainstorm.

My favorite post-rain ride ever though was Georgia Cyclone back in '02. My friend James and I were at SFOG for the first time, and had hit the park late on a Saturday. We'd already ridden every coaster in the park save for Deja Vu which was surprisingly  not running, and Cyclone. There had been on and off storms all day so the track was still nicely lubricated by the rain. We grabbed the back seats since they were supposed to deliver the most airtime, and boy did they ever. I've ridden it numerous times since, and all have been good with killer airtime in the back row - but none have been quite as insane as that particular ride. We're both somewhat amazed we kept our arms up the entire time - that coaster was really trying to remove us from the train in a violent way - and of course we loved it :D
