I decided after about a three years absence from Carowinds that I would go to their Halloween Event this year. i think the last time I was there it was still owned by Viacom. So since my plans are to hit atleast one park a weekend in Oct, I figured might as well. I will go ahead and say that I did not ride anything for I go to these events for the Haunts and the Scare Zones. If I want to ride then I will just go during the day, but it is great to see people jump in line for the coasters since that makes the lines for what I am there alot shorter.

So on with the pics!

Now for the skinny so to speak on my view of the who event. I thought it was not really that great of a Halloween Event. It seems the park tried to go with quantity over quality. I noticed that alot of people in the scarezones where talking in a crowd and not really trying to scare anyone at all. There was a lack of people in the houses or trails. I think there is alot of room for improvement.

WOW! Great photos. I don't plan to go but it was nice seeing some quality photos. Too bad the quality (I know this is your opinion but it's the first I have heard) wasn't up to par.

Do they still have the trail under the log flume? That's where the chainsaw guy use to hang out years ago and scare the beejeebees out of people.

I had an idea that you where at HHN. Was it as good as it looked for I got the chance to walk through the haunts as they where being finished up? Fear not for Scarowinds was just a warm up last weekend. I have Kennywood's Phantom Fright Night this Friday night then on to spend the night, on my birthday, at Waverly Hills Sanatorium.

Waverly Hills is located in Louisville, Kentucky. It was one of those places that people with 'White Death' (tuberculosis) came for treatment. It is said that over 63,000 have died in that very building. Those that passed away where took out what is called the 'Death Chute' as not to disturb the other patients. They where lowered down the tunnel to waiting horse drawn wagons and later hearses that would take the bodies away. This place has been on Sci Fi's Ghost Hunter as the live Halloween special last year. My visit consist of staying eight hours inside the main building and includes a walk down the 'Body Chute'. Lets say I have been looking more forward to this than my annual trip to HHN (which is free for me this year).

yes wes...I screamed lol. Dave it is as good as it looks...to me. The scarezones, while there are lots...werent all that scary as I can remember my earlier years. I guess cause all of the openness in some of the areas and all werent designed to be scary like fractured tales and asylum in wonderland. I did get some scares in the path of the wicked and startled in streets of blood.

The houses were really good. I did the annual pass holder party and the stay and scream on another day so I was virtually in the houses alone. They seemed to be the standard lenth but detailed out the ***. Didnt have to get an express pass since the longest wait the entire night was like 5-10 minutes.

I was gonna go to scarowinds sat night but I figured why bother...
