Had an all-around swell day today with my family for many reasons, but special note needs to be made of Afterburn and, especially, the Flyers.
Afterburn: on a nice hot day, it's a real treat to ride in the front, barefoot, when the mist is really working well. Ahhhh....
Flyers: To my delight, the famous Anthony was on duty. He was giving away Star Trek wings to the winners, and we all found him just as great as everyone has noted previously. I had only ridden the Flyers twice before on a previous visit, and was just starting to get the hang of it. But today--ok, now you can call me addicted. It was a major hoot every single time, and about scared the pee out of me once or twice! One ride, all 10 were simultaneously going over the roof, which impressed the ops. Another time, about half the flyers (my party of three included) were snapping so hard and so erratically, spectators were screaming, and frankly, I thought the whole contraption was going to collapse. On another markedly wild round, both of the ops just kept saying--"ooo... oh... wow!... uh---oh--whoa! uh-oh--Whoa! WHOA!" And, on another round, two people in my party (they were in front of me) crashed into each other at the end (which I saw), and one of the ops said "ma'am, I'm going to have to ask you not to go sideways again". Is this a typical day for three newbies on the flyers, or did we have some really good luck? Anyhow, those things are pure genius, especially given their age. I still feel like I am swinging back and forth, many hours later.

LOL, welcome to the club Lily. It helps when there is a breeze to help get you higher. The last couple days I was out there I really didn't do as well as I would like. Once out of 3 rides I'd get high. I've been close to hitting the tub in front of me, they have to swing just right to do it though. Never actually seen anyone hit or hit anyone myself, but have heard of it happening.
Your head will stop swinging and you'll be able to drive normal again in a couple of days.

Why, thank you so much. I am so honored that you had a great time on my watch. It's comments like this that made it really hard to leave the ride for The Intimidator this year. If all else fails at the racetrack, I'll have to change my racing stripes back to wings.

Maybe they'll let you rotate between the two...
