I went to the park on opening day basically because I had nothing else to do. I got off 7am that morning, came home and woke up sean, and was on the road by 8:30. I figured I'd give the park another chance. Got to the front gate and had no id! Yep I left my entire wallet in columbia, but I did had a debit card on me. After telling the chick at the front gate that I was once the president of carowinds when it was under paramount and demand she sell me a ticket or else she would subdue to my rath she agreed to. I get in the park and it my journey starts. I had to brief Sean after he asked me does the park have rides like Disneys haunted mansion. Told him to expect lots of trashcans and bare spots where theming once was and man was I ever right!
First up is this...this...I dont know what to call it!
First question that came to me is why is there a white background for a coaster called NIGHThawk??? I'm sorry but the park had a pretty good amount of off season to do better than that lol. I can paint my house in 6 hours so that sign would have taken 15 mins. But then again I dont know what all is planned for it so i'll shut up now. So waiting in the ever long line for BORGhawk sean wants to take pictures to pass the time...
Finally got off and im happy I survived. But I did kinda put sean on the outside seat...what! He has never been to the park so he didnt know thats the worst seat lol!
Now on to some of the saddest shots I have taken.
That coaster has been thru it! Open as the worlds first flying coaster. Kicked out of the house at an early aged and sent to the vekoma rats nest of the chain. Given a spiffy new outfit then out of no where jumped on by cedar UNfair and got stripped of it's coolness. Oh well, sounds like something from lifetime...moving right along. Sean was shocked to see a black (or politically corrected "afro-american") character!
Went over to TopBurn for some great rides. That was seans favorite ride next to the flyers. I still to this day thank Pki for the trade off! I notice they left this on the building...
For the sake of all humanity cedar UNfair please keep this on the building. If paramount wants to sue tell them to see me! Oh well here are the new/old swings. They look alright but not anything that makes me wanna stick around. A much needed addition but not for me. I guess because it is such a simple ride. They should put up some backdrops like the ones around danny phantom flyers to give the ride some character.
Walked around the park some more and just took pictures. I think im spoiled w/ parks like disney and universal. It's like there really isnt anything to do at those parks but the interaction w/ the theming really makes it an all day park! Heres Sean and me!
Back to what I said earlier...c'mon park! You knew several years ago you had to change the names so what's the hold up. Its not like you picked a name like my cousin did for her baby that it takes a rocket scienctist to pronounce or create! You picked bland simple names so why is it hard to get the simple signs up. All this waiting better produce some kick *** signage!
If you ask me I think the area should be themed to red necks and hillbillies! After the awesome dropzone tower of whatever it's called now went to jukebox diner so sean can take some shots!

Carowinds if you need a REAL photographer to take some shots hit me up...just promise to name that new coaster after me!
If it wasnt for the carolina boardwalk and the area where vortex is the park would not be as good looking as it is. These are some of the best areas of the park. Lots of trees and a good mix of theming!

Anyway...Sean had fun so that means I had fun. I have been to the park tons of times now so my fun factor isnt as tolerant as someone in the general public so I rate my fun-o-meter based on the person I go with.
