It's about time for another trip report, as it's been a while for me.

Saturday was the ACE event known as C3 (I know most of you know, but for those that don't).

Anyway, we had morning ERT on Ricochet and Carolina Cyclone (Hurler is down for rehab at the moment) and evening ERT on Thunder Road and Afteburn.

The weather was gorgeous and the crowds were very light for a Saturday.

On with the show...

The new sign looks nice at night (well really about 6:30 a.m.)
Image

Our day started (after I got some cheaper gas in SC) at this little place on Westinghouse Blvd. The food is OK, but it's cheap!
Image

Of course I had to pay my respects and take some pictures of the now departed Flying Super Saturator. Which has now been confirmed as gone for good, per the GM.
Image

I liked the ride, although it was a slow loader.
Image

I wonder what will become of it...
Image

The trains are in storage on the backlot.
Image

There was a huge crowd this year...31 to be exact.
Image

Some may worship cobras, but not used boomerangs.
Image

You mean I left a great used B&M for a used boomerang? What!?!
Image

If you name all the colors this thing has been, you win a ride with Paul Reuben!
Image

ERT on Ricochet, mostly trimless on the top...
Image

Mark and his friend (who reminded me of Penny Marshall with those glasses) enjoyed their ride, I think.
Image

The lines were huge until...
Image

We were invaded by girl scouts!
Image

The "authentic" Chinese food has gone back to being a corn dog place!
Image

Hmmmm...what does that say?
Image

Buwahahahaha!
Image

Dirt. 3 pictures is enough to devote to a used boomerang going in...
Image

OK, one more...
Image

I think not.
Image

The bumper cars building is being used as an arcade for Scarowinds. Maybe they can actually find some decent cars for it in the offseason. ;)
Image

Thunder Road was running as good as I can ever remember. Good job GCI!!!
Image

Hmmm...on nevermind.
Image

Thanks Dick for the used boomer.
Image

Either JD is happy about Afterburn, or he really has to go.
Image

It was a gorgeous day, and the park looked nice. Even though Carowinds has a pretty mediocre coaster collection, I still think it's a nice looking park.
Image

Bill was there, and I think that's the GM in the glasses there.
Image

Jonathan your friends were there too...
Image

I normally don't pass up swings, but after riding this before and seeing how short the cycle is, I didn't even bother.
Image

Still awesome.
Image

I don't know if they meant to or not, but they left TG on the front of the building, which is a nice tribute to the original name. Still a great ride.

Thanks for reading.

Carolina Cyclone has been:
Red & Black, 1980-1991
Green & Black 1992-?
Sky(Carolina) Blue & Black ?-2002
(Dark Blue depending on your eyes) 2002-current
Do I win?
It appears ya'll got to have lunch with John Stanrock, I hate that I missed that. I met him a couple months before he became GM. We talked about the sternwheeler, and some history of the park.

Oh, I've got a picture of something related to the Sternwheeler I need to upload. I just gotta send it from my cellphone to my 'puter.

You know, I kept wondering who Dani, the new PR lady, reminded me of...Rose, from Doctor Who. I'm interested in seeing what she has in store.

For those of you who haven't heard, she's planning a coaster enthusiasts event next July, the 24th I believe, called Coaster Stock. Its suppose to start at 5am and go until midnight. C3 isn't going away. Don't worry about that.

I didn't even think about that, but she does favor the girl on the new Dr. Who a bit.
