Well, I havent did a TR for a long while so I thought I would do one for the Howl O fest, since I took the kids on Saturday.
We arrived at around 12, when the event started, I havent been to howl o fest sine it moved to the paladium (not sure how long its been there) so it was something new to me... I was very surprised at the lack of stuff in the area, but the kids didnt mind, decent decor greets you as you walk through, including some big blow up ghosts, pumpkins, and a bat. My kids and niece/nephew all loved the foam pit and they all loved the hay maze to, they played in it forever. It wasnt all that crowded, very surprising. We went to the puppet show, which was absolutely horrible (no offense) it was just downright boring. A lot of people got up and left, including me. It just wasnt good, maybe it was just because it was the first day... The kids went to the talking pumpkin but I guess the lady was on break so they didnt get to talk, the weird part is the lady stands very close to the thing so you can see who is doing the voice, I guess thats to make sure she hears them etc. We had lunch at the food stand near the maze, the food wasnt AS expensive as I anticipated, but I did get overcharged, which they did correct. Beware of the corndogs as well, they have to slightly overcook them, because they are frozen, I did get a free corndog out of it though. After all this it was time for trick or treat, each little stop was interesting, they only give the kids like 2 tiny pieces of candy, guess candy is expensive these days...
After all this we decided to go ride the rides, skipping the pumpkin patch so I didnt have to carry a pumpkin all day. We went over to the kids park and let the kids ride a couple of rides, but my nephew was ready to go home and shoot his new airsoft pellet gun, it was his 8th b-day on the 2nd so... Thats pretty much the day at the howl-o-fest. overall it was not a BAD event but it was sort of boring... but the kids enjoyed it, of course. Hopefully I will return to the park SOON for Scarowinds!
