Of course the government would allow this. What do you think we live in, AMERICA? HA! Please our government wouldn't even notice because they are so out of touch with the nation, the people, the world. The only thing the government is focused on is A.) War and B.) Reforming Healthcare. IF a politician had a brain they would try to stop such a merger for one sole reason. MONEY! The government makes more money through taxes and what not if the amusement park chains are separated. You know if GMC and all these other Car manufactures can get bail outs then why the h*** not Six Flags. Say what you want about Six Flags or Cedar Fair, but I honestly would hate a world completely owned by Disney and Universal. (Don't get me wrong I love both but there is NO WAY they could make a park in every state with out having consequences...not to mention the price of a ticket). But the government wouldn't care because they are too busy about passing a bill that will fail 6 months after it is signed. And no one in DC is listening to the public out cry. *Steps off soap box*

Apollo is just trying to become a competitor with Disney by acquiring the same types of assets that Disney owns on its own accord. If the merger were to happen Apollo would own about the same number of assets that Disney does, thus making Apollo an entertainment giant. However, if allowed to go through, it would spell disaster for all of the entertainment properties owned by Apollo because acquiring so much so quickly is destructive.

^^Please read the Code of Conduct.. if you want to discuss religion or politics do so elsewhere.

^^^Of course they would allow it.. it isn't a monopoly at all. As long as there is still Disney, Busch, Universal, Herschend (Owners of Dollywood and Silver Dollar City, etc), Hershey Entertainment, Parques Reunidos(Owners of Kennywood and Lake Compounce, etc), Legoland, PARC Management (Owners of Darien Lake and Elitch Gardens, etc), and all the independent parks like Holiday World, Knoebels, Indiana Beach, Beech Bend, etc..
