I am taking a trip up north and planning to hit some of the CF parks (Dorney, Cedar Point and Kings Island) in July and I was wondering if anyone had a recommendation on a hotel near Cedar Point. Nothing too expensive but nothing sleazy. The last time I was up there (over 10 years ago) I stayed in the Toledo while on a business trip.

If you have any recommendations for around Kings Island also, that would be helpful. I have Dorney covered already. I used to live around there.

I stayed at Breakers Express... Their are pluses and minuses...

Pros: Early Resort Access.

Cons: No complementary breakfast

Thanks, I looked at the CP hotels but they are a bit high on price for what you get. I have the platinum pass which gets me in an hour early so the ticket deals aren't worth it.

I think I'm going to end up at the Best Western which is about 5 miles away which should be fine.

When I went, I stayed at The Knights Inn, just down the road from the park and was not really expensive.

I'd just go for the cheapest thing you can get with decent reviews. The on property hotels are ABSURDLY overpriced, and the only real perk other than location (for the ones on Point at least) is early entry, which as you say you get with the pass.

I'm heading up the end of July also (26th and 27th). I made a reservation at the Best Western (5 miles from Cedar Point). It looks like it's only a few years old. Looks like it recently changed hotel chains also. See a lot of references to a comfort inn.

All I can say is this- Do NOT stay at Hotel Breakers. The room we stayed in was a wreck and had sand all over the floor. On the inside, the hotel looks like its falling apart. The only other in-park hotel I saw was Sandcastle Suites, and from the outside it just looked like a typical Hampton Inn.

Just got back from the trip. Just wanted to say that the Best Western is really nice. I will stay there again next time. I also took at look around at other area hotels. Most of them looked nice enough. I prefer to stay at once with no outside access to the rooms.

The closest non-CP hotel is a Quality Inn right at the light to Cedar Point Causeway. It looks decent. Stay away from the Howard Johnson across the street. It looked like a hotel they rent by the hour.

Any of the places on 250 were convenient to restaurants if you didn't want to eat at that park.

Had a blast at the park. it made Kings Island later in the week such a disappointment.
