Anyone on here in ACE going to the Summer Conference @ kings dominion on August 20th & 21st? Me and a friend were trying to plan a trip up there, we will likely ride the amtrak to richmond va, to save the hassle of driving and riding a train sounds fun. It sounds like a good event and its great that its happening the exact weekend we were planning a trip on anyway.... Anyoone know anything about amtrak or if any stations are closer than richmond? I think there was one in ashland I think but the cost difference is crazy... I think catching a cab in richmond wouldnt be all that bad...

^catching the cab in richmond isn't the hard one to catch. When I was at kd, i didn't exactly see a line of cabs waiting, actually I didn't see any cabs waiting.

Are you trying to say its hard to catch a cab? I am not worried about that, I can call a cab and have them waiting when we arrive, thats not a big deal, but thanks for the info that there were none there... Usually places like that would be a popular spot for the cabbies to pick up people, so I will just have to make sure I have someone waiting that way we can get to the hotel quickly.

I am all booked up for the triip, will likely just rent a car instead of getting a cab since we wont be staying right beside the park like I was going to... Anyone else making a trip to KD for the summer conference?

What station are you leaving from? I didn't think about taking a train up, but that's not a bad idea, cause I could just rent a car and drive to the park.

I am leaving from the charlotte amtrak station @ 7:30am on Friday the 20th. The train will arrive in richmond (at statples mill rd) at like 2:30 or so.. We went ahead and booked the room at the hotel right at the park becaue I called the lady and she let me have the ace rate =) I found a good website for a cab and it has 25% off coupons... I guess we will be getting a cab to the hotel. If you decide to do the amtrak, there is an enterprise I think like 10 miles away and it says they will pick you up, just to let you know. You could always ride with us in a cab, that would make it cheaper for all of us

I called on the 30th of July and she let me have the ace rate! I talked to the group sales manager, melinda I believe is her name. I dont know how many rooms were left..

That would be cool, me and my friend dustin should be at the best western around 3:30 on Friday, depending on what time our train gets in friday afternoon. I will likely be wearing my tan ACE shirt on friday and my blue intimidator shirt from carowinds on saturday....

Sounds good. I know for the most part of the first day, I'll be by myself. My riding parter has to work on Thursday and she's not leaving until Friday morning. I just needd a break from everything that's been going on. I think some Volcano ERT will do just that.

Sweet, I wish I coulda went up on Thursday, but I dont have a good pass to get in up there so I cant go in until 4pm on Friday anyway... Plust I didnt want to pay for that night too. If friday had ERT in the morning, then I would have done that as well.
