I have a trip to California coming next week and have one day to visit a park of my choice. I've narrowed it down to either knott's or SFMM (both of which I've not been to) The original plan was to go to Magic Mountain but it hurts that Twisted Colossus and Scream won't be open. I only have until Thursday to make my decision so I figured I'd ask those of you who have been to these parks- what would you suggest? Thanks in advance to any reply

Haven't been to either park (later this year hopefully) so my advice shouldn't mean much, but if it were me it would be Magic Mountain hands down. And I'm a Six Flags hater!

Ive only been to SFMM and its worth it just for the experience on X2 alone. Scream isn't really anything to cry over, TC is a little bit but you have the rest of the park to make up for it. At Knotts you have Xcelerator and Silver bullet with not too much else major.

I appreciate both of your answers. I would say I'm leaning towards SFMM (despite my anger over Colossus not even being close to done and scream being closed at what you would think would be an important part of the year with spring break).
To be fair though, Voyage to the Iron Reef isn't open yet either. it makes me more thankful Carowinds was on top of it with construction  Anyway, thanks guys for your comments!

To be fair, Colossus wasn't even on the radar to open this early in the year. And Scream, while being a credit, is really just that. Its not even as good as it's twin on the east coast.

As much as I LOVE KBF, I would also say SFMM. X2 is amazing, Goliath is good, Apokalypse is good, Tatsu is the best flyer I've been on, The drop tower is awesome, and then there's like over a dozen other coasters. None of which really suck.

Depends on what you like and what area you are gonna be in. Knotts has the better food and environment. As a matter of fact, they have their boysenberry festival going on right now. They have 2 really good dark rides as well. Wait a minute...why not disneyland? Its like 6 miles from knotts! Anyway, I would only go to SFMM if you wanted credits and the time to run from coaster to coaster. Knotts is more of a laid back place with a good selection of rides and the beach isn't too far away.

Thanks guys. Looks like I'll be at Magic Mountain next week. I'll be sure to post back and let you know how it goes.

As to why I didn't consider Disneyland or Universal- I've been to the FL parks many times plus I'm all about coasters which is why MM got the nod in the end.
