I went today, only relying on rcdb to see if it was open (my fault, i know). The chairlift scared the heck outta me and the non-running roller coaster made me . (ive never ridden it).
I have to say, I don't know what it is about their drop tower, but it is amazing. For some reason, it's better then ours!

I do have a question: What did the old flume look like?

You referring to Silver Bullet I take it for I do not recall Ghost Town ever having a traditional Flume Ride but the Silver Bullet was a Flume Hybrid that never opened to my Knowledge. I recall seeing it being built on many visits when I was younger.

Silver Bullet apparently shared the hillside with Cliffhanger. There's a footer pad or two still visible.

Oh my... such a sad ending for ol Red Devil/Cliffhanger. According to this article, they are going to use part of the steel from the coaster to create a 200 foot tall cross to sit on top of the mountain. So much for the scenic view.

Hmm, wasn't "Resurrection Mountain" supposed to open in 2013 or 2014.....

The writing is on the wall, it has been there for years! Shoot the darn horse and be done with it, her holy land is the only chance that Ghost Town has for long term survival. Even then, it is already barely an amusement park. From what I have heard, it is an unamusement park. Some things are beyond repair and sadly I believe Ghost Town was in that shape back in 2002.

I don't fully understand why she has let most of the rides sit around all these years. I firmly believe this park's future is beak, I have friends in the area and they say the area around the park is vacant for the most part. The owner's best bet is to complete her Holyland concept, otherwise the park in my expert opinion is a money pit.

I wish an amusement family or even a lover would take over and turn this place around keeping its western theme. If I had the money I would. Give Carowinds a run for its money LOL. Nothing like a friendly competition. Maybe Herschend Family Entertainment could pick it up and do something with. Wishful thinking I know.
