I live a mere 35 minutes from the park in Hendersonville. I recall seeing The Silver Bullet many times since this is the park I grew up with. It was an interesting looking ride to say the least.

I might have pics somewhere. I know I have alot of old pics from the park in the eighties thru late nineties. I just have to drag them out of storage. I will see what I got after I get back from the Board Meeting this week at the Atlantis Resort. I will look through what I have and get back with you.

Cool. I own a mountain home in Hendersonville. I love it, there.

I was wondering with it getting so close to opening, are they gonna have enough time to test the rides. It would be a shame to open up with little testing and than have a bunch of failures the first week of opening.

^ I was also wondering the same thing.

The scrambler and gunslinger aren't even put back together yet!

I don't see how they can get them back together and tested in the next 2 weeks...well less than 2 weeks now. They'd better hurry.

Anybody planning on going up there that weekend? The 25th is a Friday, so I probably won't go just because I'd have to take a vacation day for it.

I'm thinking about going up on the 27th.

Well, the park has officially opened. Cliff Hanger (aka: Red Devil) is still awaiting it's trains. I have heard 2 scenarios concerning the trains. 1) The originals are being refurbished, 2) They are getting totally new trains.

I don't know which is happening but I certainly plan a trip up there once the coaster opens. Hooray for Ghost Town!!

The Observer has an <a href='http://www.charlotte.com/217/story/129778.html' target='_blank'>article</a> about the parks opening along with a <a href='http://www.charlotteobserver.com/images/news/ghosttown/' target='_blank'>slideshow.</a>

The Park got brand new trains for the Red Devil (Will always be know as the Red Devil in my eyes). Need time to get the needed runs with the new trains.

Dave, do you know if the new trains have just lap bars like the old train, or were they forced to go with over-the-shoulder constraints. Obviously, I am hoping for just lap bar.

The trains are being made by Rotational Motion. I do not know if they are just lap bars or OTSR's. I am hoping to find out in the next day or two. I know that Rotational Motion was the company that refurbished the other rides from the park. I recall riding the Devil with lap bars. Would be great if they keep it that way.

I am hoping to attend the Re-Grand Opening this friday morning since I have a season pass this year to the park. Figured if they where going to open it up than I will do my part to support the park. It will be a nice alternative to visit the park and it is a mere stones throw away from the house.

Incase anyone is wondering, Ghost Town did open this morning at 9 am. The only way up to the park is taking the bus. Tram and Chairlift are not operating. the park hopes to have them up soon.

Man, I'm so glad this park is open. Image

I was watching some of my old Red Devil video this morning. I think I'm gonna wait until the coaster is open before I make the trek up there. By then I am sure the chairlift & tram will be operating. I've only been to this park several times, but we always took the chairlift up, and the tram down. I guess I'll keep that tradition.

The Red Devil or Cliffhanger is to open June 11th. The Chairlift will be open this coming weekend to enjoy the ride up the mountain. No word on the incline Railroad though.

Seems that the park is having huge crowds according to the Boob Tube. I am hoping to make it this coming weekend as long as work does not go to pot.
