From Screamscape:
2016 - New Roller Coaster - Rumor - (5/5/15) A series of photos posted to the "Six Flags Great Adventure Insider Updates" shows off not only the park's new El Diablo super loop under construction, but some Surveyor equipment elsewhere in the park which apparently is somewhere between the water tower and the Picnic Grove.
This is where things get interesting however, as one rumor for 2016 coming to light suggests that the park may be planning on adding their own B&M Launched Wing Coaster, similar in Holiday World's Thunderbird. According to the rumor, one line of thought may be to somehow reuse the old Chiller station structure for the new coaster (it's wide enough, as it did used to hold two side-by-side launched coasters) and maybe even have the coaster launch out and through the old Observatory structure, which is also still standing, with the rest of the layout running somewhere between here and the water tower area and back.
Sounds like a an interesting idea to me, as it would be nice to see this section of the park brought back to life again. We'll have to wait and see what other rumors develop this season.

There is concept art out there that I've seen (and may still have) showing a wing coaster that was on a video used to promote the whole hotel development at GADv. I'll see if I can dig it up.

KONG is back!!!
(May 6, 2015) – King Kong will rule at Universal Orlando Resort next year in the groundbreaking attraction, "Skull Island: Reign of Kong."

The new attraction will open in the summer of 2016 at Universal’s Islands of Adventure – and will be an intense, all-new adventure brought to life in a dramatically themed environment. Skull Island: Reign of Kong will pull guests into a powerfully told story where they become part of the next generation of the Kong legend.

It begins as guests are transported deep into a wild and mysterious world, where their mission is to discover creatures of unknown origin – but where they are soon fighting for their own survival. Their journey will take them through an ancient temple inhabited by hostile natives, a perilous jungle ruled by prehistoric creatures, a foreboding underworld of caves concealing unspeakable terrors – and face-to-face with the colossal Kong himself.

Universal Creative is working closely with Peter Jackson, famed director of 2005’s blockbuster movie, “King Kong,” to immerse guests in this incredible adventure.

"King Kong is a Hollywood movie legend and a huge part of both our history and our future," said Mike West, Executive Producer, Universal Creative. "He gives us the opportunity to tap into everything that makes our film history so special and everything that makes our theme park attractions so spectacular. We can’t wait to bring him to life in such an epic way."

Known as "the eighth wonder of the world," Kong has been called "the experience for which movies were invented." Since first appearing on screen in 1933, "King Kong" has been re-made twice - each time on a tremendous scale – earning seven Oscar and three Golden Globe nominations.

And now – in even grander and more realistic form – the Kong story continues to grow. "Skull Island: Reign of Kong" will open in the summer of 2016. More details about the mega-attraction will be released over time. Visitwww.universalorlando.com/ReignofKong for more information.

Well it's about time they officially announced that. Maybe I'll go back when it opens. I hadn't been since the end of '08 (yes even though I live in FL...life happens and parks aren't always on the top of the list).

I was at universal this past Saturday and snapped a pic as I walked to Jurassic park...the detail on the exterior is already insane. I can only imagine what the interior will look like.

I really think KD is due to for a coaster this year or at worse, 2017. What do you all think? Is this rumored hyper going to become a reality?

^ I think that if Kings Dominion gets a new coaster, it will go over/under their front entrance, and they would probably get a new front entrance to go with it.

I think the layout of the park could make it difficult to do that, especially with Dominator located where it is. The one thing that may work would be starting over near Avalanche and going out toward the parking lot then back toward the entrance. I do think they will get a new entrance, though.

I could see them getting a B&M wingrider.

With all the positive reception for Batman the Ride at SFFT, I wouldn't be surprised if Great Adventure got the larger version.

New Trademarks for possible names to the coasters at Seaworld Orlando & Busch Gardens Tampa:

I like Mako better so I hope it goes with that. However with the recent naming at BGT with Cheetaka (great) becoming Cheetah Hunt (meh) I wouldn't be surprised. I'll enjoy the ride no matter the name I'm sure. Of course it could be for one of the other parks as well, or may not be used at all.

I actually like this name better than Cobra's Curse and hope they use it. Cobra's Curse would be a good name for a dark ride however. It would be nice for them to open up the old 3D theater (Akbar's Adventure) with a new attraction. This also sounds like it could be for a waterpark slide for Adventure Island. They did open Colossal Curl this year, but that waterpark still needs more.
