Because Mean Streak got the axe and will be a pile of rumble in a month or so.

I am back from Carowinds Connection Time-Out!

It's my understanding that they want time to do what they need to do. Mean streak is 500' longer and 20' higher than Texas Giant. New Texas Giant was raised 10' in drop height and shortened by 900'.
I could see Mean Streak having a taller lift and loosing a couple hundred feet, Texas Giants' lost length mostly came from the helix, which Mean Streak doesn't have.
None of the other RMC conversions have been to the scale of NTG, which took longer than the others.

Still not taking a bet, this is a fansite that is mostly based on speculation.
The only thing you being right does is inflate your sense of self importance.
Plus Mean Streak is longer than TG was despite not having the helix.

That was RMC's first project though, back when their factory was still small.

But Twisted Colossus is longer than NTAG (albeit lower to the ground), Iron Rattler has a taller lift and drop, and they completed Wildfire in a matter of months, their biggest ground-up project to date. It just seems to make more sense that the early closing would point towards a drastic change the size/layout, Cedar Fair would rather take more time with this project since it's their first RMC project, or a combination of both.
