I sure hope they are just going to be canabilzed for spare parts for Sonny.

If they put those on Beast... *shudders*

Kinda old thread, but...

I would actually be pretty happy to see those on The Beast, as long as the old Beast trains are scrapped and sold- that would turn me against Cedar Fair completely (still ticked off they sold SoB's loop as scrap). But to the point, The Beast would be much smoother, and new trains wouldn't be bad.

The way G trains beat my legs, Beast would kill me as much as the old trains on SOB did.

If they'd somehow modify the trains though to make the restraints like a PTC, then it wouldn't be nearly as bad.

Beast + G trains = OUCH! I firmly believe that Hurricane would have been better with PTC trains. Why are they replacing the trains, doesn't Blue Streak still run the same trains?

Adding G-Trains to the Beast would do one thing for that once so called great wooden coaster and that is make it into a bigger POS than it already is.

Didn't see this thread before, but I would be a HUGE supporter of G-trains being added to The Beast. I am not kidding at all; I would LOVE to see this happen.

Yes we know you're a freak and like G trains. ;)

You'd probably have had a heart attack if you got to shack hands with Mr. Gerstlauer at the mystery mine media day (which I did). lol

Not really. I would probably tell him that the trains they designed for Mystery Mine are terrible and ruin the entire ride. The trains on Beast are far worse than G-Trains to me. The three bench PTCs track terribly for that kind of ride, and since it has those god awful hard seat backs, the constant jackhammering of the train through the entire course absolutely destroys your back. That ride is one of the worst coasters I have ever been on, and I don't see how changing the trains could possibly make it any worse.

You're probably right. Plus G trains would weigh a lot less than those 3 bench trains.

I wonder if the small PTCs wouldn't also help out thunder road and maybe give it some air.

Last time I rode Beast in 05 it really wasn't so much rough, as just plain bland. Except for the tunnels of course.

I thought about slapping him for the design of his trains, but then I remembered there were like 100 news crews there and I really had no desire to show up on YouTube that night.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that dislikes the Mystery Mine trains. I'm not sure what would of made it better though. In fairness it seems to be the same trains as all the other eurofighters just with a different skin. I wonder if it could of been done with lap restraints only?

Lap restraints would have been amazing, or even just shoulder restraints that allowed a 6 foot tall person to ride without having his shoulders eaten.

And back to the G-trains on Beast. Here's another reason I would be for them: No headrests period. For a ride as visually stunning as the Beast, it's such a shame that there are headrests. Then again, headrests are one of my biggest wooden coaster peeves ever.
