I doubt they will close CGA, the landlease states that it must remain an amusement park. Chances are they would sell it back to Santa Clara or the 49ers entact. It would take an act of city hall for CGA to be shuttered and rides removed. You see how far they have gotten with the stadium and new wooden coaster. I imagine the city would offer to buy the rides before Cedar Fair removes them. You have to remember CGA was saved from demo by the City of Santa Clara, and I imagine they get a fair amount of money out of the park. I personally can't see Football being more profitable than an amusement park but I am the only man the world who has no interest in football. Give me pom-poms anyday. :D

Then you don't realize how big of a business pro sports (especially the NFL) really is. For example, the NFL and its 30 teams took in about $6 billion in revenue in 2006. Six Flags and its 21 parks took in nearly $1 billion.

Well, we are talking about the 49er's. They USED to be big time. But yes, football would make more money than a Park. Jerry Jones is building a Billion Dollar Stadium in Dallas. Now we are talking about the Cowboys. But you have to factor in all the merchandise that the team makes money on. You don't build a Billion Dollar Stadium if you aren't rolling in the greenback.
