I would rather steal pics from other users and post them on other boards or do a time line of dirt moving.

So here it is and what is your vote. Please note if you take some of these choices to heart then you need to go outside more often. This should be interesting to say the least.

I chose "Watch it from time to time", because I'll watch maybe 10 minutes of a race every now and then. I used to be really into racing though. I'm kinda glad I'm not anymore.

I've been to 2 races in my life and probably will never go to another unless its to sit in the skybox for free.

It's OK I guess, but I usually only watch the Charlotte races at most on TV.

I still find it bizarre they call NASCAR a sport.

I'm not a "fan". I will watch more of the Charlotte races than anything.....Being at the track is a much better experience. I used to watch more, but all my drivers just kept getting hurt or killed....Bobby Allison, Davey Allison, Ernie Irvin(saw him racing at Concord back in the day as well as RC cars)...just couldn't jinx another driver.
I do respect what these guys go thru, and know that you do need to be in some kind of fitness to drive over 160mph for 4 hours in door to door traffic.

Could I pay you to become a Kyle Busch fan? Self centered, egotistical little @!$%@#.

Yes, I have pink hair and watch NASCAR. I even watch during rain delays. Those are some of the most fun, actually. Just finished watchin 4+ hours of rain delay from Pocono, and laughed my butt off half the time. These guys are (mostly) good friends that will pick on each other, laugh at each other, and just be plain entertaining.

So you can guess which vote was mine. :) I was at the 1979 Daytona 500 (you know, the big fight in the infield after the race between the Allison brothers and Cale Yarborough). Granted, I was in my mom's stomach still, cause the race was in February and I wasn't born until April 1. Of course, I was still in my mom's stomach the first time I rode Space Mountain 2 weeks before I was born. Explains a lot, doesn't it?

I will classify myself as a Kyle Busch fan.. if for no other reason he is the most hated driver out there. And I love to see people annoyed. I used to be a big fan of Richard Petty and anyone who ever drove for him, but they never did well, and now that Petty Enterprises doesn't even exist anymore..

I have been a racing fan pretty much since birth, but it was not by choice, as my entire family has been fans of racing since far before my time. All throughout the 90's I knew about most drivers and tracks. As I have gotten older my interest has waned with me becoming interested in other things, but I somehow still manage to watch the last 50 or so laps of most races. I will also defend the sport against any of its detractors, even though I am not the biggest fan (anymore). It IS more than just going left very fast.. the cars DO infact race each other, not to mention pit stop strategy is a science in itself.

As time as passed they have implemented many things I do not agree with, such as The Chase format (10 races should not be indicative of the entire season). Also getting rid of smaller tracks like North Wilkesboro and Rockingham, where the fanbase is more 'pure,' for tracks in larger markets like California, Texas, Las Vegas, Miami, Kansas and Chicago, which may get more butts in the seats but the history just isn't there. They have also raised prices quite a bit. In the early to mid 90s me and my dad used to go to every race at North Wilkesboro and Martinsville. One track they got rid of and one they priced us out, even for lame backstretch seats. :(

Rant over...

I chose "whack as a football bat" simply because it made me chuckle.

Yeah, not my thing though.

It's definitely not for everybody. But, then again, neither is football, baseball, hockey ..... GOLF. I, for one, will never understand how people can sit and watch GOLF all day. Does it really deserve it's own channel? I mean, yeah, we've got SPEED channel to give us our racing fix, but they do all kinds of car related stuff on there (anyone seen the Barrett Jackson auctions!?!? ).

Most sports look boring or silly to the "casual" observer. I mean, football? 22 guys running around and knocking the snot out of each other for a ball and slapping each other on the butt?

"But there's so much more involved!!" you say.

Exactly, just like racing. BTW, I'm a huge football fan, too. GOOO HOKIES!!! :D

Football rules my vote.

My best friend is a NASCAR fan and he has made every attempt over the last 30 years at getting me interested in the sport. It didn't take....

I fully support the economic impact and notoriety the sport brings to Charlotte, along with the forthcoming HoF. I just prefer sports with more physical body contact like football.
