3 out of 5 stars Fun, something to do, go for it!
While many don't know this is a remake of the 1981 claymation version, it really doesn't matter. The same story line is intact and not to mention the high technology of todays computer graphics, good music, and definitely an awesome audio team who knew exactly what they were doing by making use of each speaker throughout the story. While watching, I was reminded of a film I'd seen earlier this year, "Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief," a different but similar tale of a younger Perseus - part human part god, who, with help, discovers who he really is and the powers that lay within.
"Clash" delights in scenery and action as an older Perseus discovers who he is and a great mission is set before him with several sub-missions along the way. There are giant crabs to deal with, mystical people with great powers, villains, allies, and one of the films biggest highlights, Madusa's Lair. From the arrival at this dark and eerie place it was apparent that our cast of brave heroes helping Perseus had bitten off more than they could handle. A memorable line was spoken, "Men go in there but the don't come back out." Madusa toyed with the men from the start and slithered her way through every theater speaker with ease as she claimed several lives, adding to her already extensive stone collection.
While the file is lacking something I couldn't quite put my finger on, it is fun, adventurous, and full of surprises.
3 out of 5 stars is my not-so-bad rating.
