Sex ban for Alton Towers thrill-seekers

Theme park Alton Towers has introduced a sex ban in some of its hotels to stop children getting upset by noisy night-time frolics.

The Staffordshire resort is launching ‘family friendly’ wings so guests may avoid overhearing romping – described by one as ‘louder than the screams from Nemesis’ – one of the park’s scariest rides.

‘At Alton Towers, we want people to enjoy themselves in whichever way they choose,’ said a spokesman.

‘However, we recognise that some activities are not so “family friendly”, so we have decided to separate families to ensure all our guests fully enjoy their stay.’

The sex ban follows Alton Towers' previous outlawing of the humble Speedo (and similarly tight swimming trunks) and a daredevil squirrel with a penchant for the Sonic Spinball

If the place had been built with thick walls with sound absorbers between them they wouldn't be having those issues. I've stayed at hotels that were close to being soundproof once the door was shut to my room. I've stayed at motels and also experienced some night-time Olympics from the guest next door. Some people sound like they're destroying the place when they're going at it. If I were a child I'd be startled too. Let's hope they build the family wing right because the same things could happen over there.

Parents will play, while the children are out...

You know there's still going to be some headboard bangin' going on when the couples w/out kids side fills up and they'll have to book them on the family side. This always happens with hotels. They aren't going to turn anyone away if they have the rooms.
