I've been looking online at the different haunted attractions available in October, and there are quite a few. Any suggestions? I'm willing to go as far north as Gboro and Winston, and as far south as Charlotte/Gastonia.

The only other place I have been is to the Campground Massacre, which was I believe 3 years ago if I can remember right. It wasnt bad. Its a trail in the woods and its more like a horror movie type theme with different characters. Then I remember you go though the house or whatever. It wasnt bad, and I dont believe it was that expensive. I may even go back this year. I always want to go to more haunted houses, and other than Scarowinds, campground massacre, and some haunted houses in myrtle beach (not @ halloween), havent got to go to any. I think there is a website called NChaunts.com that has all of the area haunts and reviews....

Yeah, the Campground Massacre seemed like a good place for us to start since I haven't yet exposed my daughter to haunted attractions. We're using this as a test to see if she's ready for Scarowinds next year because it looks like it will be less intense.

Tickets (9 and up) are $20 but if you go the first weekend of Oct they are $14 and the second weekend they are $16. I'll post a report on here after we go.

UPDATE - we're actually not planning on going this year so I won't be posting a report.

Here is anothe rlink that might help some of you folks out. http://www.hauntworld.com/north_carolina_haunted_houses

If you are into traveling outside of the area I would say head down to Atlanta to Netherworld. It is always one of the top rated houses in the US each year. Also make a weekend and head to Leeds, Al and hit Atrox Factory (Outside of Birmingham, AL) it is just masive and is pretty creepy.

I may do Campground Massacre in conjunction with SCarowinds one nite. Since Spooky Woods is in High Point, I'll likely hit that up one Friday Nite after work since I work in WInston and can just sneak over. There was one in Greensboro that looked interesting too.

There is one called Boogerwoods just down the road from where I live. I'll probably check it out at some point too.

The on in ATL looks cool. I was considering a trip down in October for Fright Fest, so maybe I'll do that one too.

There's a haunted corn maze in Shelby NC and some other haunted trails...
