Resident Evil: Afterlife in 3D (2010), rated R, Horror/Mystery/Suspense/Action, 1 hour 30 minutes
Starring: Milla Jovovich, Ali Larter, Kim Coates, Shawn Roberts, Sergio Peris-Mencheta, and Spencer Locke
The Umbrella Corporation is at it again - playing with genetic mutations, splicing and mixing cells to create the ultimate warriors - but Alice (Milla Jovovich) and her clones' goal is to stop them for good. And make no mistake, this ain't Wonderland's Alice.
The 4th installment in a series of films based on the Capcom video game smash hit, Resident Evil. This time the story takes place in full daylight but there are several area's of darkness our band of players must pass through if they are to survive. The film is heavy on suspense with several sudden scares along the way which will make you jump and laugh about it later. Included are a new bread of zombies that apparently are more intelligent than the usual street walkers seen in the past in their never-ending quest for fresh flesh. The army of undead fits in nicely with the theme of Halloween and could possibly still be showing in theaters by then as the film has grossed a reported $26M and hasn't even played a full week. Seeing it in 3D only adds to experience to place you in their twisted world.
If you're going...
Be aware that some theaters, like AMC, have been known to change their tickets prices as the day ticks on. This morning (Friday, Sept 17, 2010) at 11 the price was only $8 for this new 3D flick. By 1:35 PM the price had suddenly jumped to $10.50. Around 5 PM it was $18. Remember to check the times and prices before you head out to any movie theater.
Note of interest: Movies that aren't in their first week of showing at AMC are only $5, Monday - Thursday earlier on in the day. I'm sure restriction apply when it comes to hit 3D films.
