^The coasters are almost certainly lost.

The pictures thus far had just been Casino Pier, but Funtown Pier just down the Boardwalk got hit hard as well.

And some more of the Star Jet at Casino -

The Star Jet is no big loss though as it wasn't that great, the things I'm saddest about are Stillwalk Manor at Casino which was a FANTASTIC old school dark ride. It sat on the back of the pier along with Star Jet and the Log Flume.

At Funtown they had a Wild Mouse from the 50's that was also fantastic. It harkened back to the the old wooden wild mice with how crazy it was. This leaves us with only 2 of these rides in the world. (In Colorado and Texas)

Here's hoping they can both rebuild to be better and safer. I really enjoyed these Jersey shore parks. It would be a shame if they never operated again.

Star Jet and Looping Coaster look savable, the majority of the structure is intact. However, it is a time sensitive. The saltwater will eat the paint off the start on the steel. I am suprised how undamaged they look.

The question is would anyone really want to? It would be like in RollerCoaster Tycoon where everyone is like "I'm not going on Star Jet, It isn't safe!"

While the track may look intact, you can tell in some places its bent all to hell in ways it shouldn't go. There's no cheap way of fixing that. It would be cheaper just to get new rides. Not to mention they still have to get it out of the FREAKING ocean!

I predict, for both piers, that they are going to see what they can salvage, carefully deconstruct it and take it off site for refurbishment. More than likely they will have to tear down the entire pier(s) due to safety issues with the pylons underneath. Then they will rebuild the pier and put the salvaged rides on the new pier along with some new rides. This is all speculation of course.
