General Carowinds discussion

I think the coolest part about that video is the VR they show at the end. It appears that it's an up-charge so you can decide to get it or not. I certainly wouldn't VR every time but it would be a cool thing to do occasionally (if they can keep it working.) They can have several scenarios so you wouldn't see the same VR every time.

Hey, make it a Gold-pass thing. If you have a gold pass, the VR is free, otherwise it's $2.00 per ride.... something like that.

On a side note, MOST of the targets in Boo Blasters were actually working when I was there last week.

That is good to hear about Boo, I hate seeing neglect in a park.

Someone on Instagram translated a part of the video for me where they talk about California getting a Mack coaster. I don't know if the tour guide confused it with Carolina, but if he did mean this, could Magic Mountain or CGA receive a Mack too? Looks like Carowinds has competition!

I thought I heard California too, which is in line with what some other sites have stated in speculating Magic Mountain is receiving a Mack. Does anyone know what "big eight" refers to?

Six Flags can't afford a 20M coaster under their capital expenditure formula. There is a reason they have bought cheap coasters since bankruptcy. SF parks aren't getting Dives, Hypers, or any expensive coaster like a Macl launch.

CGA is getting a 210ft hyper, it's confirmed by permits filed with Santa Clara where a 210ft coaster is specifically stated on the approved architectural review.

Also, the mention of Bluefire which is a 124ft LSM launch may point to Carowinds. The guy IMO likely confused California with Carolina.

The mention of bluefire was actually referring to the one going to China I believe.

Edit: It is going to china, the reporter states that the one going to china is a clone of bluefire. The manufacture (Who's speaking english) states that you can find 8 clones of Bluefire, which two "including the one behind me" are in china.

CGA’s Hyper isn’t even scheduled for 2019. That’s a water park expansion. That’s why they took out their swinging ship and log flume. That’s why there are so many markings near Boomerang Bay. If the Mack rep didn’t misspeak about California, I would bet on that Mack going to Magic Mountain based on pre-existing rumors. I would not take stock in Amusement Insiders’ video because as Grobble has stated before, they have made several misinformed statements.

They're from France, thats like us mispronouncing a province (or saying a totally different one). I wouldnt trust that its going to California.
