General Carowinds discussion

Lets think about this a little bit.....

"Copperhead Strike".... Doesn't really fit the "County Fair" theme even though copperheads are prevalent to this area.

"County Fairs" area rides as of now..... Do-Si-Do, Rockin Roller, Swings & The Flying Cobras which is a reference to the Classic Air Shows..... All these rides you would find in the 50's or at County Fairs.

They keep referencing things from about.... Corn, Farms/Barns, Motor Oil, Scrap Metal, Guard Dogs, Car Parts,, Spark Plugs, Homemade Jelly with a 1950's theme.

It has to fit the "Classic Fair" theme....... Was thinking "Grease Lighting" & "Junkyard Dog" at one point but I don't think its likely now.

Technically the ride is going into Crossroads, so it doesn't necessarily have to fit in with the fair theme. But given that the original Crossroads section was tied into the original County Fair, I'm sure this new attraction will be set in the same era.

I think crossroads will get a retheme, i could even see county fair being extended over, but probably wont happen. Its really hard to say what the true theme is going to be! Here are some of the teasers in case anyone missed them.

Yea that one was interesting. I like the big mocks excavating one  Not sure if any of these have real "meaning" at all. But cant wait to see what else they have this week. I think i read Thursdays at 8:30 am is when they will release teasers. :D

I thought this whole time it was in the "County Fair" area..... I have a hard time trying to understand where one area starts & one ends.

If I am looking at the map right its between the Crossroads & Water Park... then... across from the Classic Fair.

What area were the White Water Falls & the Small kid pool (Lagoon ?) in?

Re-Think everything now or wait until August.
Grease Lighting, Junkyard Dog, White Thunder, Lighting Road.....?

Something with a.....1950's, Farms/Barn & Car theme... Definitely could relate to the North & South Carolina in a lot of different ways.

White Water Falls and Sand Dune Lagoon were located on the construction site

White Water Falls was in Country Crossroads, Sand Dune Lagoon was in Carolina Harbor.

Lets look at how Carousel Park flows into Boardwalk, then Boardwalk into County Fair. I dare say these are three themes that can have similar enough themes that they can connect to each other while being separate.

The County Fair has an agricultural theme underlaying the main theme, Country Crossroads could be nearly anything Rural...
What better way to connect the two than a farm theme?

I'm reading into the teaser posters and I'm picking up on a moonshine making/moonshine running theme. That could be just to throw us off, like Centurion, or it could be part of the theme.

You need scrap metal to make a home-made still.
You need copper for part of the still.
You might do this in a barn.
Corn was the main ingredient (before sugar-based moonshine).
You need some big fast V8 cars to transport the product.
Moonshine is also called "White Lightning".
A good bit of moonshine running was still going on during the 50's era which fits the County Fair.

Since the coaster will apparently have two launches that means it can stop, or nearly stop, twice on the layout and that opens the doors wide open for more complex on-ride theming elements like we've seen with other Mack rides. (A barn, a hurried exit from said barn, etc.)

But I wouldn't be surprised if some or all of these teasers were just to throw us off the trail. It could in fact be Copperhead Strike.

I think for Carowinds’ best fut they should put the roller coaster entrance somewhere on the green construction wall fence. It just makes more sense since the teasers do talk about stuff related to county fair, but then again they are just teasers and county fair was just added last year but there’s no really good roller coaster over there when over in crossroads you have afterburn. I don’t know, crossroads just needs something to be done to it the same Coca Cola stand has been closed over there for 11 months.

If I had to guess based on the teasers we’ve seen, the ride will be a moonshine-running coaster with a barn-themed station, and Granny’s “Secret Recipe” will be for a moonshine called “Copperhead Strike” (though why an 80 yo woman would be making moonshine is beyond me). That missing car from Jukebox diner will be at the entrance similar to the truck in front of Mystic Timbers at Kings Island.

Dr. Charlatan.

Snake REPELLENT.

Interesting marketing choices today.

Ok I get that this is a reach (but so is most of our speculation) but if the guy on the poster is Dr. Charlatan, then doesn't that mean he's NOT actually able to repel snakes? As in, we ARE getting a copperhead themed ride.

I don't necessarily think this teaser's intention was to tell us about the Copperhead Strike name one way or the other, I just thought it was interesting that my intuition was the exact opposite of everyone else's when I noticed the name Dr. Charlatan lol.

Nailed It..... I think you Right.

I was thinking all along Moonshine (Corn, Barn, Hot-Rods & Recipe) but the Snake thing threw me off..... Never though about the Moonshine name being"Copperhead Strike" as being the name for the Moonshine.

Moonshine theme blends in the 2 beloved coasters Thunder Road & White Lighting.

Old woman making Moonshine..... Ever see "The Beverly Hillbillies"
