Friendly info. The waterpark hours have been cut for the remainder of the month and August. This month it now closes at 6pm during the week and 7pm in Fridays and Saturdays. I’m August we’ll be looking at 5pm closes during the week and 6pm on Fridays and Saturdays with some 12pm openings.

Do you know when it closes on Sundays?

I have a hunch it has something to do with staffing and also attendance has been down across the chain as a whole.

I was at the park today. It looks like they began painting some of nighthawk's supports, as well as (maybe?) windseeker's seats.

There’s never been enough lifeguards to run the water park and the schedule is always like that except for July, on weekdays it was never like that and was always open until 7, pretty sure it has to deal with lifeguards as there’s never enough once it hits this point in the season

I'm sorry, but is Intimidator top speed 75 mph or 80 mph? Because I hear people say 75 and some people saying 80 and it annoys me why Carowinds won't just stick with one of them.

I think I heard 75 mph. I noticed when I was at the park on Sunday when you come into the intimidator store after getting off the ride the pictures that show your reaction all have a speedometer showing the speed.

I’ve never heard anyone say it’s 80 mph before. Maybe I’m just not listening close enough .

Edit: Carowinds website reports it as speeds up to 80 mph but RCDB reports it as 75 mph. Maybe the “up to 80mph” means on a very very hot day (or even with certain wheels on) it can go up to 80, but it consistently goes to 75mph? I don’t really know.

Whoa, that’s crazy. Never noticed that. Gonna have to make sure I look for that next time.

Even if the speedometer is functioning, the photo op is taken at what is practically the slowest part of the ride. So it wouldn’t answer your question.

I would bet that you're not traveling more than 30mph when the photo is taken on that helix. Maybe even less.
