General Carowinds discussion

Hurler is 3127ft long. 50mph. If this one is 3255ft long 2min 24 id say 53 would be the top speed and on 2nd launch, but who knows. Cant be to much faster. Maybe 45 on 1st and 53 on 2nd?

I think a benefit of teasing at a park in a different region but within the same chain is to get people all over the CF chain talking in hopes of them possibly upgrading to a platinum pass so they can go and visit the new rides at the other parks.

It may have nothing to do with Carowinds, I just thought it was interesting that the number "137" popped up again. We've seen it on two teasers already, so obviously it's an important number, either that or we all just being trolled AF by the PR teams

I don't know if that's the best comparison, Afterburn is shorter in length than Hurler, but it goes 62 mph. I still think the longer ride time incorporates some type of dark ride style theatrics, kind of like everything that occurs inside the Mine on Mystery Mine at Dollywood, that ride is roughly 1800 ft in length and lasts 2:30.

I think it is good that Cedar Fair has apparently chosen a Mack coaster, as most recently they seem to have big contracts with B&M. Although B&M isn't really known as much for launch coasters, although they do have the launched wing coaster at Holiday World. But I think a Mack launched may be a better choice.

Yea that is true, there could be a MCBR before the 2nd launch or anything really. Plus of course hurler has a life hill, but I think just based on ride time of 2min 24sec it wont be over the 62mph that mack normally does, I think it will be in the 50's. If you look at icon and blue fire you will see similar lengths and ride times icon being 3750ft 52.8mph and 2 min 41sec. I think this is a much better comparison and a little more likes of what 530 could mean (53mph). Dont know. I do hope for some kind of dark tunnel with effects.... Maybe 530 is the length of a tunnel :D

I know absolutely nothing about webcams and bitrate but both Carowinds and Knott's seem to have terrible "freezing" issues with their respective cams whereas KI, CP & CGA all have smooth streams constantly. Maybe it's time for an upgrade :wtf:

Cedar Fair buys roller coasters from every major manufacturer that's not Intamin or Vekoma. Many of the large rides they have installed lately have come from B&M because they have a domestic production facility in Ohio, unlike other Euro-based firms. Shipping coasters is expensive.
