Ok, I have been looking for the snake shadow for so long but can't find it. It is supposed to be in the picture on the website right?[/quote]

The largest announcement in the history of the park...

I wasn't expecting that...

So, could the leaked layout be a fake? could this coaster really be larger than what we are thinking?

I think the announcement will include:
Copperhead Strike
Flying Eagles returned!
New midway connection Crossroads with County Fair
New water slide behind Surfers Swell... (Why keep the bathrooms)

Thoughts?

You need a wide-screen monitor to see it.

I have said before I thought there's a decent chance this could be a multi-year announcement for 2 coasters, the launch coaster under construction for 2019 and a wood one to replace dinos attration for 2020. I'll add to that prediction the connection of dodgem area over thru the construction area so you don't have to walk around Scooby Doo's Haunted Mansion (sorry, it'll ALWAYS be Scooby to me).

Of course it may just be the 2019 coaster and hotel which would be big but a little over-hyped with description of "biggest in Carowinds history."

PLEASE don't tell me the moving of the flyers from A to B is "big news."

A ground-up new construction RMC may be similar expense as conversion of an existing wooden coaster to RMC, and would make Carowinds even with Kings Island.
The new one at Carowinds will make the coaster count surpass KD either way.

CP 17
CW 17 (16 now + 1 new for 2019)
KI 15
Carowinds (13 now+1 new for 2019...another for 2020 would be 15)
KD 13

Partial shipment I'm sure.

I'm gonna go with coasterbruh on this with them including the hotel in the announcement, even though it has pretty much been "announced". Financially, this would be the biggest investment in park history since its actual opening.

We can assume the new Mack coaster will be in the range of $20-$26 million based on the company's other coasters (Icon, Helix, Time Traveler etc.). This coupled with the hotel, which IIRC was stated to be in the $20 million range by a Cedar Fair stockholder meeting transcript (I'll try to find the link later), would be at least $40 million which would surpass 2015's investment of about $34 million (Fury was $30 million, the gate and toll booth were about $4 million. Link )

Maybe there'll be another flat to go along with Flying Eagles in Crossroads but I think we would have seen markings/permits by now.

Personally, I see this as pretty much guaranteed:
- Mack multi-launch
- New Hotel
- Relocated Flyers
- New Area: "Crossroads" revamp

I wouldn't be upset if we hear that Hurler is closing at the end of the 2018 season either. That would give them a good year or two to prep it for a 2020 or 2021 RMC grand opening... Not saying it's likely, just saying it's an idea.

Or some flat rides from Cedar Fair's foreign expedition that we don't know about. ;) Or a Mondial Revolution? That alone would certainly be incing on the cake that is gonna be Carowinds' 2019 season.

I forgot! Don't be surprised if they announce a Sports Complex as well.

This was found in the blueprints for the hotel, so I can see them announcing a Sportsforce by 2020. It'll likely be an indoor court complex for volleyball and basketball.

I'd gladly take an add-in for the Aug 30 announcement for Carowinds to get a Cedar Point sized giant Frisbee like Cedar Point's maXair, announced for a future year. NOT the jv version they put at KD, which is not even half as much fun as the CP version.

I like the sports complex idea, but I don't think that will be part of the announcement, I also don't think a Hotel is either since its already been announced by Carowinds and currently has a blog about it at https://www.carowinds.com/explore.

I think this will be a dual announcement, announcing the new ride, the new area, and the return of the flyers for 2019. But I also think they will announce a massive multi-year park expansion, probably pushing the park boundaries into the current parking lot since it looks like they are building new parking further from the park.

Hi everyone, after months of reading I decided to join and get in on the conversation. With an upgrade of the area around the coaster could that possibly include a remodel or tear down and rebuild of the Wings restaurant? I mean it would be nice to see it turned into a smaller Harmony Hall with a full bar that offers "grannys secret" for purchase right across from the Mack double launch
