General Carowinds discussion

I think we may see another entrance to Carolina Harbor from inside the park, or maybe the entrance in county fair would be removed, not sure. I could see one being put on the other side of the coaster, more towards the orange and white slide (blasters?) somewhere in that area or towards surfers swell and the old bath house. I think if its not demolished by the time footers start behind it then it will stay and be somehow used eventually.... even if its just a random dead end in the water park. The also put 2 black gates towards the end of the wall (near the bath house) so you cant go down there to see through the gate hole haha. Can still see from water slides and things though, not sure if they just set them there after blocking the area for surfers swell renovation or what...

Though the trains in the Mack video looked really cool I still think that our trains have a lot of potential. If they really do make them look like 1940's Ford trucks and really rustic then the overall experience will be a lot more memorable in my opinion

I get inflation and all but I don’t see a dive coaster that’ll end up a couple thousand feet shorter than Levi being their biggest announcement in history neither. Also Kings Dominion used the same words for Twisted Timbers and we know it certainly didn’t cost more than I305. Yeah they also included Winterfest and I believe their spin on it was biggest in terms of amount of additions? Can’t remember.

Also lol to the 5:30 am announcement, least I’ll be able to catch it before work.

CW did not include the hotel. Yukon, Winterfest and the area upgrade, likely constitutes their biggest investment. Valravn cost somewhere south of 20 mil. Yukon certainly cost more.
I'm very curious now to see what Carowinds has in mind if the hotel is not included in the announcement. If I'm not mistaken Fury and the front gate cost about $30 mil. If this Mack is in the $20 to $25 range, there is money to spend to make this the largest investment. Can't wait till the 30th.

The concept of cars racing down twisting back roads could be accomplished with spinning trains.

If crossroads ever does get new flat rides they better be some pretty dang good ones! All that crossroads has is: flat rides, 3 carnival games, a basketball game, and a very outdated restroom. Afterburn is included with crossroads but it’s not in the main heart of it and technically I think it’s just sitting there by itself, crossroads needs a whole new energy that surrounds it that will attract more people to go there. Maybe an entertainment stage idk, definitely could use an indoor restaurant all that they have is fry shack and Rita’s which both look outdated. Basically all that I am saying is that crossroads is very outdated and needs a complete revamp to everything in the area.

My brother-in-law rode Time Traveler recently (he grew up going to King's Island), said he didn't know what to think going into it, but it blew away his expectations, said the spinning wasn't too extreme, he rode it twice, both times were completely different experiences.

Spinning or not, this ride will be a great addition.

Also, Canada's Wonderland only filed for "Yukon Striker" in the Canadian Trademarks Database a week ago, so Carowinds could quite possibly have something up their sleeve

I can understand why the park would want a spinner but the ride would be better as a normal ride.If the had spinning trains it would make me .also do time travelers supports look different

Integrate the entrance to "new coaster" along that same path and it would flow great from the County Fair.

Once that's accomplished, it opens up a lot of room for a few more flats where TR station was along with revamping the entire area between dodgems and "YO".

(This is a slightly different subject but I also like the idea of moving the park entrance to the waterpark out of County Fair to tie in with a path to the South Gate.)

This what you mean? There just isn't a clear reason why they wouldn't connect a new in-park water park entrance because that bathroom is still there(unless the coaster is in the way). Plus removing the old one would close up that area more theming wise and not have a random water park in the middle of a country/rural themed area

The name’s not guaranteed, but Copperheads are as synonymous with the Carolinas as barbecue and lung cancer, so it seems like a safe bet.

Yes, more or less. I would hope that there be more path and some water. More like this (the white circle being the flyers)...
