Coasters? Please tell me that was a typo. Actually, don't.

Definitely a typo lol . . . But technically, since SFMM announced yesterday as well (and they are carowinds' direct competition  coasters could be fitting lol.

As far as I know they are safe . . . in the crossroads.

I really like these pics because of the insight they give us in what the surrounding area may look like come springtime (barring any surprises). :D

Really digging the headlights. Hopefully the old school cop car, hay bales, and the big, rusted copper still outside make it into the final product. Idk though, because it's a fairly unrealistic rendering compared to the location and layout, but I digress. Also, I hope NC & SC license plates really do make it onto the trains. It almost feels like a fun throwback to Thunder Road.

I like this concept image too. You can clearly see Afterburn and Intimidator in the background, which gives a good idea of the placement of Copperhead strike relative to what's around it. And there's clearly more room (for future flats possibly?) surrounding it.

Some people are reading way too much into the whole moon shining theme to say that it would offend church people......I am very religious and attend church every time the doors are open; this does not bother me in the least. Just because it’s moonshine themed does not give me the urge to go drink. Please stop overthinking this and just have fun with it

It may not bother you but some church folk will pick a situation apart if it run counter to their religious teachings. My parents are that way. They would have a fit if they went to a religious sponsored event and see alcohol being sold. Yet they drank like a couple of sailors when I was a child.

RollerBee, I agree with you on the backstory. It struck me as being somewhat flimsy. The copperhead snake really does not fit with the backstory. I feel they shoehorned it in by saying the farm was infested with them. To me it seems they had a cool name, but then separately come up with the Byrd farm story. They then had to figure out how to fit the cool name in. I know, I know, Roller and I are way over thinking this thing but the snake wasn't needed here at all to make it work. Hell even granny, stomped the snake and pick it up and threw it off the stage like she was tired of being forced to work with it. When the ride opens, you are probably not even going to see the snake again, other than in the logo. Poor snake.

Forget the fact that lil ole carowinds is getting an attraction that will make many parks jealous. Forget the fact that a park that went years feeling like an afterthought is on the verge of achieving national acclaim. Let's just focus on a back story. . .

I couldn't care less about how cohesive the back story is or isn't. Hell, it could have been theme to taking a dump in an out house on fire for all I care, THE PARK IS GETTING AN EXTREMELY UNIQUE, CUSTOM, DUAL LAUNCH MACK COASTER!

If anyone wants more fleshed out storylines then go to Disney. . . Or to the movies.

At the beginning of the decade, we were getting relocated rides from other parks and were in the bottom half of the Cedar Fair chain. 8 years later, we've received 3brand new very expensive coasters, a complete overhaul of the children's area, a complete overhaul of the waterpark, which doubled the size, a brand new front entry plaza, parking booths, 12 new flat rides, better food and show offerings, a seasonal extension with WinterFest, and a completely new area which I'm sure will be home to at least one additional flat. On top of all that, attendance has skyrocketed, which has placed Carowinds as the fifth most visited Cedar Fair park. I'd say jealousy is very prevalent, especially from our closest CF park.

I agree but theming only makes the ride better.Yes the ride will be great but the theming will make it better

The jealous attitudes kinda need to stop. I mean I get it: Carowinds has been “spoiled” beyond belief, but that’s because it sits in a market of nearly 15 million people with no direct competition from other amusement parks. The idea that parks have “turns” and that it’s time for a park that hasn’t built a coaster to build one is ignorant of factors of the very basic concept of market size. This wouldn’t happen if the smaller parks weren’t owned by Cedar Fair, but because the company is headlined by Cedar Point, people expect their local parks to become mega-parks.

Hell, even the fanbase of Kings Island has some people who think they’re “neglected” for “only” getting an antique autos attraction and a restaurant within the last two years.

Hey, fake outrage  . . . no one said anyone was actually jealous. I was metaphorically speaking in regards of the "backstory". I haven't actually seen anyone post about how they are upset carowinds is getting this coaster. It's actually been a lot of praises because most of us know that regardless of where it is, the US needs more Mack coasters. I'm actually glad it's getting raved reviews from the community. Now the GP, that's another story . . .
