So yeah the steps is the exit path, what’s the covered window thing on the barn for? Is that a viewing for non-riders to get a look inside?

I did not even think about that. Sounds sick.

Over all I’m still a little disappointed in the speed But I understand not every ride can be as fast as Maverick or Fury. Or intense. I think once you tackle speed and height you need to move on to more creative thrills. I’m hoping the lower speeds and tight layout is for hangtime in the inversions. I’ve heard to never underestimate a Mack coaster especially, in terms of specs and looks.

Even if the ride turns out to not be everything I hope for it’s hard to be salty about it. I mean doesn’t the park kinda need more rides that aren’t white knuckle SCARY anyway? My mother was excited to hear the speed was lower. She enjoys thrills but can’t really do the high speeds anymore. That says a lot to me.

It’s also hard to be salty when you realize how bad we had it in the paramount days(imo). I never hated Carowinds but under them I would have never dreamed my home park would have a hyper, then a Giga and then hit after hit thereafter. I was sad about thunder road but the new water park is a needed addition and I’m sure it’s nowhere near done. And county fair rocks.

I don’t expect major announcements every year but I’m feeling really positive about the future guys. Sorry for the ramble but I wanted to get my thoughts out. I had to take this season off for health but I’m really looking forward to (hopefully) being back in 2019.

That may be it, Mystic and Twisted Timbers just have the on ride photo booths instead of having them built into a gift shop like we’re used to seeing. Makes me wonder if they’re moving away from those due to high volume traffic and theft. They’ve already stripped Banshee and 305’s gift shops.

Do we know what the weird parallel lines of concrete pillars that have been constructed are for yet? I’ve been confused by what they could be for ever since they were constructed.

Copperhead Strike, the Carolinas’ first double launch coaster, joins new themed area and hotel to bolster park’s regional destination appeal

CAROWINDS, Charlotte, N.C. – Carowinds will mark a turning point in its evolution as a destination amusement park when it introduces Copperhead Strike, the Carolinas’ first double launch coaster, for the 2019 season. With three 16-passenger trains fashioned after 1930s coupes, Copperhead Strike sends riders cruising into a Jojo roll right out of the station. They then go into a lightning fast launch to a 360° loop, the second of five inversions, moving into a series of near-miss twists, turns and flips. Without slowing down, the ride launches a second time to accelerate into a memorable hang time loop, leaving passengers breathless and wondering which way is up.

The new coaster is the central element of Blue Ridge Junction, a new immersive, richly themed area inspired by the majestic beauty and easy-going culture of the Blue Ridge Mountain region of the Carolinas. Conceived for the purpose of engaging all five senses, the redesigned seven-acre area will feature the new Blue Ridge Country Kitchen restaurant in the former Wings restaurant location.

More transformational features will open at Carowinds in 2019: The new SpringHill Suites by Marriott at Carowinds, a 130-room hotel currently under construction, is expected to welcome its first guests late in the year. Also added for the first time is a new dormitory to house students from across the region and around the world, allowing the park to develop programs such as a full internship for travel and tourism students. These features, along with the new roller coaster and themed area, encompass the largest investment in the park since its opening in 1973.

I know that’s questionable wording but I wonder if we’ll see a passholder preview event prior to official opening like they done with SteVe and Hangtime? Weather is sketchy as hell in late March though.

Edit: nvmd, we’ve had passholder preview nights the last few seasons, I forgot

^^ The rate of acceleration is about the same as Firechaser Express, so it’s not by any means impressive. But they can market the ride however they want, it still looks amazing

I don’t think the first launch will be great but the GP will likely think it is a worlds first element as they have never Seen anything like it.
