What did the tour refer to it as being?

I was on the tour and asked Phillip (Carowinds' Utilities Manager) if the pad was for the flyers. He said he had no idea what I was talking about, obviously in a satirical way.

Very nice! I was just watching a video from coaster addict of the tour! I didnt think they would say. I think it was a news report months ago that said the flyers woukd go where wwf entrance was and it would return in 2019, or maybe they just mentioned 2019... On another note he did say it will be part of blue ridge junction, of course, did anyone ask what all would be included?

Not that I know of. He did confirm that there will be a path connecting County Fair and Crossroads, that goes through Blue Ridge Junction. A friend of mine said he talked with the park VP at the announcement, and he said Crossroads will not be included in Blue Ridge Junction, but Dodgems will be getting a complete overhaul. Take the part about Dodgems with a grain of salt though, because my friend could've been lying.

I asked if the restrooms that are in the construction area will be renovated to be part of Blue Ridge Junction, and I was told by Phillip that they will remain part of the water park and no new restrooms will be built for the area. I also asked when we will see steel going up and he said 10/1 we should start to see something. Also he said the trains should arrive in Jan.

-Track DONE in October. I wanna say 10/15 but don't quote me on that. (trying to get it open for winterfest with the alleged flyers     )

-Most all footers already in place.

-Have said several times Crossroads won't be included in Blue Ridge Junction but it's like talking to a brick wall.

-Coaster is built on a hill so that should make pictures from the entrance to BRJ to really be able to capture it well.

-I know this will hurt some of you all souls but, how can I say this . . . Copperhead Strike has no intentional ties to Thunder Road nor white lightning. Fan theories are fun and all but yeah, anything that seems to remotely tie in is just a coincidence.

***A friendly word to the wise, if the park has stated more details to come, please don't ask them about those details before they are ready to announce them. I heard a lot of "silly" question yesterday and it gets redundant for park personnel to keep having to say we cant talk about that, when they have stated they will release more info at a later time. So basically, talk about what has been talked about and stop trying to pull information out of them, it won't work.***

I must say, one highlight of the day was hearing someone going on and on about how much they watch the webcam and then being told, and I summarize, you might wanna find an additional hobby if you have that much time to look at the webcam   ! Took the words right out of my mouth lol lol.

Vertical construction isn't STARTING until October 1st, and the utilities manager said they plan to install two track pieces per day. That means track work probably won't be done until January or February. Then they have to install all the theming elements. There's absolutely no possible way Copperhead Strike will be open by Winterfest.

I'm almost positive I heard him say track work completed in October. it may be possible I misheard him but I don't think it will take as long as Fury 325 to build . . .

Very doubtful unless crews work 7 days a week and 24 hours a day.

If y'all want a more definitive timeframe, Icon's vertical construction lasted from October 28th to about February 14th, which is 109 days. The same timeframe starting on October 1st would take us to January 18th, but given that Icon is almost 500 feet longer, this could be completed in early January or possibly late December.

I don't know why I researched this.

Ok, I may have misheard. My follow up was are all the footers done cause that's like a month of construction. I'm not sure if all the supports will go in first and then the placement of track. Maybe the park will out out a construction timeframe in the next blog   .

The blog said vertical will start late sept. once all the footings are done.... I heard track will be here early Oct. so it all lines up. Id say the track will be complete by late Dec. that would leave a few months for the buildings and such to be built, which I would assume will start being constructed once the track segmetns inside the buildings have been placed. I am guessing early this week the concrete will be poured for the bottom of the storage shed, since it has already been dug. I guess there is still quite a bit of footers to go yet.
