Its the end of the night at 41f and they just split the remainder of the line at Fury between regular and fast lane. Never seen this happen before, it’s weird to see both sides of the staircase full.

Man I absolutely love the park after last night. First off I got the last train of the year on Fury again, continuing the tradition of getting it every year since opening. Second, and the best part, is that starting around 12:25am the park started playing Christmas music over the speakers, and the remaining scare actors were screaming the lyrics in their voices  There had to have been <300-400 people left in the park when they started doing that. I love it when parks do stuff like that for such a small amount of people.

Well the 2 new areas are truly 2 NEW areas: thrill zone and the waterpark leading up to the main bathhouses. Mrs. Claus cookies has been moved to the waterpark and chick fil a is now open. I personally think this change with benefit the park a lot. If you look closely it lists that Mrs. Claus cookies is in the dining plan... I wonder how that will play out? It seems that Carowinds has done a great job with spreading out the live entertainment so wherever you go throughout the park there will always be something going on. Overall I think there will be a huge step up from Winterfest last year to this year. I really look forward to it!

A friend of mine gave me this today. Does anyone know when Carowinds sold these?

Can y’all believe these plastic “bubble boy” cabanas cost $299 to rent for a night. I’ll take an All Season Fast Lane for that price. Seriously though it’ll be interesting to see how much of a success they are because I’m sure the profit margins are crazy good for each rental they get.

A fool and his money are soon parted. There aren't many hotels in the area that cost more than that.

I could see justification for a company or organization to rent one as a kind of lounge but I couldn't imagine a family sinking that much money into one

EDIT: Ok maybe not since the rental only includes access for 4 people.

It does provide other stuff though (still not worth it in my opinion):

    igloo food & beverage delivery
event host to plan-out your night
    souvenir mugs for hot chocolate
    reserved show seating
a cookie decorating session in Mrs. Claus' Kitchen
complimentary ice skating or carriage ride session
    special surprises throughout the night!

Also, You have to pay extra for skating or carriage rides? That sucks in my opinion

It’s an up charge not only because people are willing to pay but also demand. Too many people would want to ice skate on that already tiny ice rink if it were free, same with the carriage rides. Not sure who would pay $15 to decorate a cookie but I’m certainly not their target audience.

You get 4 large cookies for that price. Not bad at all . . .

My God.

It’s packed.

Approaching Scarowinds levels of packed. Mostly families. The interstate was backed up, the toll plaza line was long, entry plaza is full. It’s seriously like Scarowinds.

Good job to the Carowinds marketing team I guess, all the families that went last year told other families.

Free for season passholders (2018 and 2019), and probably one of the nicest days there's going to be. Probably backfired for a lot of people, expecting to "beat the rush" with the preview night. Wouldnt be surprising if it ends up being one of the busiest of the season, even without the general public.

I have not heard of a paintjob. As far as trains we are just getting them for spare parts I heard
