Anyone else remember the TV series Movin' On? I use to watch it back in the mid-70's. Here is one of the episodes entitled "The Elephant Story". You can get a couple glances of Thunder Road with it's glistening white paint here. The episode was actually filmed in Aug 1975, so TR was not yet operable, but I personally remember it looking almost finished by Aug. 1975, seven months before it officially opened. Another scene follows where you can see the whole coaster, the old Chapel, the barn (which is still there) and and the Scooby Doo coaster. If you care to see some great old scenes on the streets of uptown when the elephant escapes, go to the 22:07 mark and there is an additional 4 minutes (non Carowinds related).

Oh wow, thanks for posting. I remember watching that as a kid and seeing Thunder Road. I had never been to the park so that was a big treat.
